ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

Hello fellow Polynesian lovers here is my most recent review...enjoy :goodvibes

It was around 2:00 PM and the room wasn’t quite ready, so we spent a couple hours at Downtown Disney. Shortly after 3:00 PM, a received a text from Disney Destinations notifying us that our room was ready. We were assigned a room that met our requests-Tahiti building with a ground floor room, theme park view, excellent! It was room 1033, located on the far right side of the Tahiti building nearest the Ferry launch. Perfect for us because we like the easy access of the TTC.

What a great review.

I have a question- we have always booked theme park view but unfortunately because we booked late only garden view was available. DId you book theme park view or just request it? I was wondering if I can request lagoon or pool view or should I just leave it to chance?

Sorry if I'm repeating an asked-and-answered question, but after reading about 100 pages of posts, I couldn't find it. What do ya'll think is the best room/floor to request in the Hawaii longhouse? We want quiet, so I'm thinking that the third floor might be best. We will have a garden view room. Should I just ask for a quiet room or for a particular room number? Thanks!

Hi,

I had a garden view room in Hawaii last week ( 1 night on the ground floor 1524 and 4 nights on the 3rd floor 3519.

No complaints about noise on either floor ( either from next door or from outside if you had the sliding door closed- the occasional pool noise could be heard when on the balcony during the day but no problem

Room 3519 is at the other end of the building from the lounge ( it is by the exterior door to the exterior stairs) so if you are nearer the lounge ( esp on the 2nd floor) you may hear more foot traffic.

Regards

Sorry yes, we booked the theme park view. I know many of the lagoon view rooms you may have a view of the MK, but most are pretty skewed

Glad you enjoyed my review!

We are staying at the Polly in December for the first time. Can anyone recommend which sections are better then others? After reading the reviews of others I'm thinking if we made the right choice in hotels this time!:

We will be there too...10/26-11/2!
Our dates are sold out for Poly...guess that means the pool will be crowded.

We will be there right after you: November 3 to 9. The Volcano pool always seems to be crowded no matter what time of year it is. Except for morning hours and after 5:00 p.m.

Having never stayed at a Disney resort, and having read some worrisome things recently, I wanted to know if Disney operates like most other major hotel chains do now and, while they don't do daily linen changes automatically, will change the sheets if you leave a card or something on the bed.

I don't really want to get into a discussion about whether it's "necessary" or not ... I just want to know, from people who have experienced such things, if it's possible and simple. (As most major hotels make it.)

We are booked for a club level room, if that makes any kind of a difference.

When we stayed at AKL CL in Jan 2008 and Sept 2009, our sheets where changed daily. Our housekeeper said it was standard to change CL guest sheets daily. I would think that all CL's follow the same practices. :goodvibes
