DS loves alligators and we'd love to take him to a farm. Anyone know of one relatively close to Orlando, like no more than an hour drive?

TIA

Gatorland is fairly close to Disney on Orange Blossom Trail, and is a classic "old Florida" attraction.

While the gift shop and offices were destroyed by a fire last year, the park is open, and they are working on rebuilding the original entrance.

I have been to Gatorland a bunch of times and it's always a blast. Not a full day attraction but great for a fun morning or afternoon. I was so sad to hear they had that fire. I'm glad to hear they are rebuilding.

I agree. You should definately take your gator loving son there. It´s a great 1/2 attraction.

is gater land even opened. the whole front building burned down not to long ago. I think they are still rebuilding. they lost some of their animals too.

Is it far from Disney? We are staying onsite with a car and would love to take the kids there.

Mapquest says it is about 12 miles from OKW. Get on the 417 Greenway (toll) like you're going to the airport, get off on the Orange Blossom Trail exit and go South...looks like maybe within 2 miles of 417.
