Originally posted by Peylog We went Memorial week last year, the last week of May. We found the crowds minimal, and some places almost deserted (early in the morning). It was hot, but I expected it to be, It was not unbearable by any means.
We're going the Sunday before Memorial day and leaving for home the Saturday OF Memorial day weekend. Do you think the crowds will be low before that Friday of the weekend? I sure hope so. We haven't been at this time of the year before. Thanks!
Nancy
Hello, I think the week your going is perfect! According to the polls I've seen for May, That week shows the lowest attendance of all the weekends in May. I think you will love it this time of year and always return in May. Have a magical trip! Peylog
We've been to WDW three times during the second two weeks of May & each time has been wonderful! Just can't beat the topiaries at Epcot & the crowds are usually manageable.
We just love May days!!!!
We have always gone the 3rd week in May (except once in Oct.). As stated by everyone above, the crowds are managable, the weather is usually great. Sometimes hot (so use the spray/fan water bottles), sometimes a raindrop or two, and everyonce and a while, a long line (so use the FP). Going back again, in almost 3 weeks and gonna love it!!!
This thread has me all pumped up! We are going in May too, and it is also our first May trip. We usually go in the Fall. I am so excited to hear that the crowds are minimal as is the rain!! WooHoo!!
We will be staying at the WL May15th-22nd - self, DH, DD4 1/2 and DD 2 1/2.
DH will be in a conference for the first four days so if you see a frantic mom with two little girls and a double stroller - take pity, it might be me!
My kids are 5 and 16 months. My 5 y/o daughter is so excited to go and cannot wait to see Cinderella's castle. That is pretty cool that we will be there the same time as you and staying at the same hotel. I hope you guys have a wonderful time!!!! 16 more days and we will be enjoying the magic!!!
Robdam,
Looks like you are there the same time. Where are you staying?
Oooooohhhhh! This thread has me sooooo excited for our trip. It will be the first for my family! We are going the 17th-26th! I researched it to death and May really seemed like the best time to go. It works out really well because my youngest turns 3 right after the trip and my oldest turns 10 this summer so I sold this trip to my DH by showing him how much we would save by going NOW.
PLUS we qualified for the Kids Stay Free promotion which saved us a TON!
Can't wait for to see my children's faces and I am also really looking forward to seeing the Flower and Garden Show!
I have to say the new Extra Magic Hours are messing with my plans a little bit the first week. I had banked on MK early entry which they changed to another day. My children are early risers so it would have been perfect. I have to take a look at my plans again and tweak them a bit!
See all of you there! I am off to the store this weekend to buy some lime green ribbon!

I work for a major airline, most of the flts in to Orlando are booked Thursday-Sunday starting April 29-May 3rd....It looks like it is gonna be busy there! All Southwest flights frm the Northeast are booked solid! So it might be busy! But oh well, at least we will be there and not at home!
Great thread! We are going for the first time in May in 2 weeks. I am so excited I can barely stand it!! Glad to hear the crowds are not so bad this time of year.
