Hi all! Just an update on mom. Went to the ENT yesterday. He said her whatever it is is undefined and soft and mushy. Tumors and cysts tend to be hard and well defined. He also said 99% of the time these things turn out benign but he can't know for sure so he's sending her for an ultrasounded with guided needle biopsy. Then she's back to him on the 27th for the results. She seems much more optimistic now (and so do I) and she even posted about it on FB, which I was surprised. Thank you for not having mentioned you already knew about it. We'll just keep that between you and I. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers and keep 'em coming!

Oh Pakey, I am so truly sorry for your loss. I know there are no words.

Do what you can for work. It will help keep you focused on something else. But please take time for yourself. You've already mentioned possibly retiring soon. The company can, and will, continue on after your retirement. I'm sure they can make due for a day or two while you grieve the loss of your friend. And if they can't then it's time to move up that retirement date.

Thank you all for your concern. I'm doing ok. In addition to being terribly sad, I have the thought running through there about if I could have done anything differently that may have changed the outcome.

I've also got this huge mess at work (not related to my friend's unexpected death) which has me so upset and frustrated that I'm not able to dwell on much else. I think this is going to be the final event in my career. I don't want to work if I have to deal with crap like this.

Alphamom, I'm glad you are doing better. Seven children need a voice to lead them!!!
