My husband and I live in Lima, Ohio and that is where the show is set. It was so funny to hear the cheerleader say "You're a Lima loser and you'll always be a Lima loser!" We cracked up!

KLM: My DH used to live in Ohio and he says everyone in Ohio pronouces it LEEMA not LIEMA. How DO you pronounce it (since you live there you know!)

He lived in Dayton so he could be wrong. . .

He brought this up as we were watching the show.

elemusing: It is pronounced LIE-MA. We were actually surprised when the girl on the show said it right... most people do think it's LEE-MA. It's a common mistake. Probably because of Lima, Peru.

Second, I thought that John was one of the football players. lol

I couldn't help but think about John and Kevin doing the Single Ladies Dance.

This Buckeye has always called it LIE-MA too. I've never heard it pronounced any other way in Ohio. Of course, I went to school in Milan. Which is MY-LIN, not like the place in Italy, so what do we know!
