Ok....so my family is considering booking an All Star Vacation home....just need some info...

Which "resort area" is closet to Disney?

We are a family of 6 with an infant...which type of room would be best?

Are we going to be disappointed we didn't stay in the park?? (POR is our other option - 2 rooms).

Just curious any experiences! thanks!

All Star have offices in the Formosa Gardens Plaza. I believe that they only handle homes in that general area. All of the resorts in the Formosa area are close to Disney - with the difference in drive times being a matter of a minute or two.

If you are 6 with an infant, you *can* fit in a two bedroom place, but I would recommend going with a 3 bedroom place - that way no one sleeps in the living area. Depending on the make up of your family, or what you want from a property, you may want to consider a 4 bedroom place.

You can get a 3 or 4 bedroom condo or a townhome (with or without splash pool). There are a few 3 bedroom pool homes around, but you are more likely to find a 4 bedroom. The homes are almost certain to have a pool and possibly a spa.

In all honesty, if it were me and my budget allowed for it, I would go for a pool home. With an infant, the infant can be in bed asleep whilst you are by the pool or playing games in the family room. Some homes provide a baby monitor or if not just bring your own (or get one from the local Wal-mart).

I also like staying offsite for the extra space that it provides when you have young kids. Easier for drinks / snacks, great to have the communal space whilst the younger members are sleeping. I find it more relaxing off site.
