All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

:wizard:/We are staying at ASMU suites in early sept. I have a couple of questions. When we stayed at ASMO a couple of times, there were some stands near the pool area where they had dis themed tatoos (temporary style for kiddos), hair braiding and wraps and I think I saw nails/airbrushing too???? Are any of these things done at ASMU? Are any of them still done at ASMO?? Just wondering???:wizard:

I saw the stand where the hair braiding and wraps were done at ASMu, but I didn't look to see if there were nails or tattoos.

Does Allstars Music have apple juice in their soda machine?

What is Celebrity Hall? It appears to be a small building at the edge of the parking lot between *** and ASMu. I saw it on the map of the resort.( Link is on previous page.)

Celebrity Hall is the main building with the Food Court, Gift Shop, Arcade and Check-In Area. It's basically the front of the resort. The buses and car check-in are at the right (as you're looking at the building from the front), the main door to the buses is in the center and the hallway runs through the center of the building.

I think i read somewhere that its a meeting area for groups, like a conference place or something.

Thanks for a great thread! I did see a question & not an answer: Is there cherry Coke? What are my soda choices?

Also, where are the pool movie schedules posted? Only at the pool or can you get a month's worth in advance?

Finally, when you check in online does it tell you what room you are in at that time or do you not find out until you are at the resort? If it tells you where you are and you don't like it, what can you do about it since you are doing online check-in?

Thanks!

Good questions...I'd like to know the answer to these too! :woohoo:

Here is a movie schedule. I *think* it is accurate, it shows 7 days, which is the rotation for the month.

Thanks for the schedule! As for the check-in question, I did a search and it seems people are fairly pleased with the on-line checkin so I'm going to do it this year. Anything I can do to streamline the process, I'm up for.

Just a couple more questions! From the pictures I have seen, the fridge is just a small one correct? Can you even fit a gallon of milk in it or do you need 2 - 1/2 gallons? Also does anyone know how much a pack of diapers and milk is at the resort? We aren't planning to order enough food from something like gardengrocer to make it worth the money but we aren't sure about packing diapers to take. Any thoughts?

I've not got a fridge before. However, I have shipped diapers & wipes & swim diapers to the All Star Resorts from my house & it was totally awesome. Dh said he'd wished we'd shipped everything down it was so painless. There are directions somewhere on here on shipping things to the resorts with addresses and everything. That is my personal opinion. Also, if you are going for DDP I'm not sure why you would need a whole gallon of milk? Everytime you get a CS breakfast they give you two drinks (and we have refillable mugs) so we had some water bottles & then kept getting milk for our two drinks & put them in our fridge (from a swap, not a Disney one.) We had plenty of juice & milk for our baby & 2 kids without buying any.

Hope this all helps.

I see someone already answered your movie question. Here is how online worked for us:
When you check in online, you do not get any info about what room you are in. You go to the special line at the front desk, which when we arrived had NO ONE in it, which was great. If your room is ready, they will give you the keys and room # then. If it is not ready, they tell you the building and which floor you are in and they can call/text you when it's ready. If you don't like the room or building, you can ask them if there's anything else available that they can switch you to. If there is a certain building or room type you want, you should call and have that put on your reservation well before you get there. There is nowhere on the online checkin page to request a certain room.

We have a family suite so that comes with a fridge. Not on the DDP, just DP so we only have 1 breakfast scheduled. (If we were doing the DDP like you all, I think we would be okay like you said! ;))The rest of our meals will be lunch and dinner and we were hoping to do breakfast in the rooms (like cereal or poptarts!) The reason we think we will need a whole gallon is because our kids are 9, 6, and 17 months and they are huge milk drinkers. We don't even buy juice or pop or anything like that. So we go through a lot of milk. I think I read somewhere that you can get a quart of milk in the gift shop but I can't find it now! :sad2:

Yes, I was surprised with how much stuff they had in the gift shop! :goodvibes You will be able to get a quart of milk. I know they had it when we were there! :thumbsup2

Here is a photo of the fridge in the Suites... Might give u an idea. I am pretty sure if you take out the racks, you should be able to fit a gallon in there.

My kids are big milk drinkers also... in Dec 08, I know I was able to get pints of milk at the food court market area which fit in the fridge easily.

And at the parks, you can get milk at almost any restuarant or counter service. I researched and found out where I could get it in the parks...

The above read-out is not what I had found, but similar.

Do they still have the plate dinners in the Food Court at ASMu?
We were there in Dec 08... and the baked chicken with mashed potatoes and chicken gravy was YUMMMMMMY! I got it almost every time we ate there. It was really good.

Just curious if they always have it... looking forward to it on my next trip this December!!
