All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

HI,
We're taking a girls only trip in November and staying at ASMu. I stayed there last year in one of the family suites which was really awesome.
For two adults who don't mind walking, is there really any building better than the rest? Have any rooms been renovated more recently than others? ( As in ongoing renos?) As far as distance, it's a small resort so farther away isn't an issue for us. We have both been to Disney before and have to walk off the food anyway!;)
I was also reading in UG to WDW to stay away from buildings 7 and 8, the Broadway buildings, because of busses warming up in the am and being quite noisy. Anyone know if this is true?
I'm thinking of just calling the res number and asking for 3rd floor of any building except Broadway.... unless I hear anything different from you all!

Thanks!:yay:

77 more days to go:dance3:

We stayed in Building 8, last Sept. on the 3rd floor and never heard any busses. We were in the corner room facing the fake street.

Good morning.

I am trying to decide which value resort to stay in for my upcoming trip December 6 - 11th. We're going to celebrate my twin daughters' 1st birthday.

My TA currently has Pop on hold for us.

I am now thinking of ASMusic - as I love Broadway - and I heard somewhere they do movies by the pool at night - which might be a nice option for us. The babies can sleep snuggled in their stroller and maybe we can have a drink by the bar and watch a movie.

Can anyone tell me more about this?

Thanks.

I think ASMu would be a good option. I've never stayed at Pop, but ASMu is really nice, and they also just re-did all the rooms a couple years ago (making the rooms more updated than the ones at Pop...even though that resort is newer...).

The movies at the pool at night are great. They are right outside the main building in front of the pool, and yep, right by the bar! It seems like a relaxing way to spend the evenings. I love ASMu! This March we got stuck in the room as far away as it GETS from the buses and main building but it was still only a five minute walk (right in the very last room at the tail end of the country building, lol...) I've also heard it's the quietest value resort because the theming isn't AS appealing to kids (but any kid would still be super impressed by this hotel!!!) It's an awesome resort and I say go for it!

We are booked at Music (Jazz requested) from November 29th thru December 13th so maybe we will be neighbors for a few days?

We may be looking for a beneficiary for our coffee maker the morning of the 8th... I'm considering mailing a small one to the resort a few days before we arrive. I've read of people doing this... anyone with experience shipping themselves items?

:thumbsup2We have stayed at all the value resorts... and I didn't even really want to try the All Star Music... finally I gave in last year!!! and I have to tell you... It is by far my absolute favorite!!! They do have movies by the pool @ dark, I hear that all the resorts do this but I have never seen it at any others. My boys (though much older than yours) loved it... It is a beautiful resort! Love the colors and landscaping. I give this resort an A+++.:thumbsup2

I am positive you and your family will love it as well:)

The 8th of what month? If it is September we are arriving on the 12th and would love to be the beneficiary.

We've stayed at all of the values except Music, it's next on our list :) I would have to say that POP was my least favorite of all the ones we've stayed at. The thematic element just wasn't as Disney, as the Movies and the Sports. So far Movies is our favorite, but we can't wait to try Music!
(That being said, there are a ton of people who would be beat me for saying I didn't like POP... it wasn't awful, just not something I would do again.)

Would anyone staying there at the beginning of September be able to share the movie by the pool schedule so we can see it before we get there? It would be greatly appreciated! :worship:

We'll be coming back on the 7th. I'll try to remember to post if nobody does before then. :thumbsup2

There's a link to another site that has the schedule posted somewhere in this thread - use the search this thread tool for pool and movie and time and it should come up - I just did that a couple of days ago and found it. (It's a link to a planning companie's website.)

Will they have the movie at night by the pool in December? or is it only a summer/fall thing?

Next Question: Does anyone know if there are rooms in the Broadway Section with King Beds?

Hi ya Tuna! Been away for the weekend and just got back. I think it is nice how folks share and pass on things to save the incoming people a bit of cash and strife. I plan to pass on my mugs when we leave. I am surprised that more folks do not do so. When it rains we pass on our disposable raincoats to the folks getting off the bus as we get on. If more of us did these things maybe Disney would stop soaking folks so much for things like strollers and such.

It would be fun to have a thread that shows how far your coffee maker could make it at DW and for how long. :goodvibes

So maybe it comes with a silver sharpie so it can be signed & dated! Not bad... it would certainly be kept among DIS posters since this would be where we communicate its transfer.

Or maybe it's kept in its box, along with a small journal so that each borrower could write a paragraph or two at the end of their stay! What a fun read that would eventually be.

Just a quick question, I read through this entire thread awhile ago, but I can't remember seeing any info about this.... what is in Celebrity Hall? I just happened to see it up in the far corner of the map and I don't know what is in there. TIA
