Will be there in 5 days. I have done online check in, but did not request a certain building. Can I still do this? Also, can the kids bring toys to the pool? Thanks

Yes it is and it is open to 11:00-12:00 not postive. But you go to the Ice Cream counter Choose two scoops of Ice Cream and they top it with what ever topping you like. I think there was 7-10 topping to choose from.

Another great place is in DTD Goofy Kitchen you get to also make your own dessert. Cookie, Three prezels stickes. and one other item I caint remember. they dip them in White or Milk chocolate and roll them into three toping choices.

Well I should say the Cast Members makes these dessert but you choose what you want. Both were really great.

I think it meant 11pm or 12am, she wasn't sure of the exact time. That's how I read it anyway!

According to this, it is open to 12am, not sure if 100% accurate though...

Does anyone know how late the poolside bar is open? I've been searching the internet like crazy for this information and all I could find was this site saying they are open until midnight. Does anyone know if this is accurate or not?

Anyone know what beverages are available in the ASMu food court (for the refill mugs)? (I don't drink soda/pop.) Also, if one of the choices is "water," does anyone know what kinda water it is?

Sorry I ment the Ice Cream station is open to either 11:00pm or 12:00am.
I could not recall excat time but it was pretty late. The Mug refill is open to 12:00am.

Could you tell me about this? I've never stayed at ASMu and this sounds like a wonderful late night snack! Can you use dining plan credits to do this?

Yes it is 1 SC and you can get a hand scooped ice cream also. The Ice cream shop is in the food court.

Just returned late Monday night from 8 nights at the AS Music in a Family Suite. We had stayed here for just one night before back in 2000, before being transferred to the AS Movies so this was our first extended stay at the Music. Here are my likes/dislikes about this resort:

Likes:

1. Very Quiet!! We have stayed in all four values, all four Moderates and four different Deluxe resorts and this was among the quietest of them all. We were in the Jazz section.

2. Better Landscaping than other Values: It seems that the other values have lots of icons, etc. in the courtyards whereas the courtyards of the Music were more naturally landscaped. I liked the fountain and "gas" lamps at the Jazz Inn. We walked around to see the other resorts and they were similar. The one I liked the least was the Rock Inn as it was too barren. My favorite was probably Broadway.

3. Pool. What a fun guitar shaped pool!! As Brenda indicated the large beach ball is a blast. They also play bingo nightly and had board games as prizes. There was an entire pool activity chart given out when you checked in. I don't recall so much activity at the pool at the other resorts (value or otherwise). They also had a movie at night at the pool.

4. CM's: At the front desk and gift shop, we encountered very friendly, helpful and outgoing CM's.

Things we did not like

1. Mousekeeping: The morning of our first full day we slept in and had the Do Not Disturb sign out until 10:00 a.m. The room was not made up later, nor did they give us extra towels, coffee refills for the coffee maker, etc. Later in the trip, we had another morning where we slept in and left the DND sign out until 10:00 a.m. again so I called Mousekeeping to ask them to make up the room, especially the fold out beds. Only one fold out bed was made-up, the others weren't. On the days we left the room before 8:30 a.m. (most days), we seemed to smaller issues. I guess we are too used to the Disney cruises where your room steward is nearly perfect!!

2. Bus Service: Yuck!!!!! Magic Kingdom service was good, as was Epcot. However, we had to wait nearly 30 minutes for a bus from Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach and the All-Stars are one of the closest resorts to those two parks. We had to share buses with the other two All-Star Resorts for AK and DHS. We also shared buses for DTD/Typhoon Lagoon as well as Blizzard Beach. The worst was getting to and from DTD. The first trip to DTD, we stood for nearly 20 minutes and then the ride to DTD seemed to take forever (about 20 or so minutes). When it was said and done, it took over 45 minutes just to get to DTD from when we arrived at the bus stop. Getting back was worse as we left DTD around closing time (11:00 p.m.) The bus stop at DTD did not have a queue, so when the bus arrived everyone from all three All-Star Resorts just mobbed the bus and pushed and shoved to get on. Those arriving later, just pushed their way in front by coming from the front of the bus. The second time to DTD, there was a light rain. We stood in the first row at the bus stop for close to 30 minutes in the rain with our umbrellas. When the bus arrived, some people who were waiting under the eave ran up and jumped in front of us. I'm not sure if they were there first or not, but they didn't wait in the rain. They grabbed the last empty seats as the All-Star Sports had filled up all of the seats already. We had to stand again. That time, it was over an hour since we left the room to get to DTD. Getting back wasn't as bad as we didn't stay very long. We will never rely on the Disney buses at the All-Stars again!

That's it. We didn't eat at the food court this trip. We either headed to DTD or back to the parks for a meal.

We would definitely stay at the AS Music again!

We probably wouldn't get the Family Suite, but instead would do a Fridge swap or rent one with connecting rooms. We liked the openness of the family suite, but not the loud fan in the kitchen area and having to make the beds yourself every night and morning. My middle son also thought his bed was uncomfortable (the pull out chair). We would rather let the kids have their own "real" beds. It wasn't that big of a deal, but just a matter of personal preference.

Thanks for the info. This is going to be our 3rd trip down and we've rented a car. We have already planned to drive to each park but was planning to take the bus to DTD. I think you just changed our minds! Thank you!

The good news is that IF you have a car both AK and the Studios are extremely easy to drive to.

I am glad to hear that it is a bit prettier at the Jazz Blg compared to some of the other AS's. We are used to Sports and are having to stay at Music this trip.

From what I can remember, other than soda there is Powerade, Iced Tea in four varieties - sweetened, unsweetened, green, and white - there is nescafe "coffee" and hot chocolate. We didn't drink the water from the beverage station, but it's tap, and the water in our room tasted filtered, so I'm sure it is too. The Ice machines have filters on them at ASMU as well. Definitly tasted both the bad and good water at WDW and didn't taste it at ASMU.
