All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Great Pictures! Thanks for sharing those. How were the lines at the food court?

We ate in the food court only a few times. When we were there, the lines weren't bad at all. But we did see longer lines when we were passing through the food court from 7:00 PM & on. I guess the lines are hit-or-miss.

I found out that a great use of a snack credit if you're on the dining plan is to get a hand scooped ice cream sundae. They are huge!

We normally stay at the Music for 2 weeks each year (the last time last december) and typically we either had our own bus or shared with the Sports. I believe that Movies had there own bus.

Does Broadway Hotel is close to the entrance to the buses to the theme parks? Oh! Broadway hotel is a Standard room. Do you have some pictures of the Broadway hotel?

Here is a map of the all star resorts. If you scroll down you will see All Star music with the layout http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmap.htm

The bus stops & food court are in Melody Hall, so no, its not very close. The closest buildings would be Calypso, which is preferred, then Jazz, etc. as you can see from the map. To me the buildings all looked the same with the exception of the icon on the exterior of the building.

Subscribing. We are thinking of booking a value resort for 2009 but are very nervous as we have always stayed at the CBR. Anybody out there stay at the CBR and then switch to a value? Just wondering how we'll adjust.

Never stayed at CBR, but have stayed CSR, WL, AKL CL 2 nights and will be staying at BC CL this October for 3 nights. We stayed at ASMu Family Suite last October, because DD & her DH went with us and the budget was tight. Needed more room but had to do value to afford it. The resort was nice, clean and fairly quiet. We had a room overlooking a parking lot on the 3rd floor of Jazz. It was nice being able to park our car near our room. The room gave us the room we needed & the kitchenette really came in handy. We would stay here again if the budget would only allow value. This year the budget isn't as tight so we are splurging.

Hello everyone! Thanks for all the great info. I'm thinking about staying at ASMu for 1 night with DH and his parents. We are spending a week at our timeshare at Cocoa Beach - our flight arrives on Thursday, but we don't check into the timeshare until Friday. So, I figured it would be a GREAT excuse to spend a night at Disney.

So, here is my question...how late is the food court open? We probably won't arrive at the resort until 7 or 7:30pm. Will we still be able to have dinner around 8pm?

Here are some recent photos of the exterior of the Broadway section. They were taken during TS Fay so lots of clouds...

Cool pictures! I love seeing pictures taken by fellow disboard members. There are always the "official" pics but I like seeing them from a fellow guests perspective.

I just posted all the photos I took at the All Star Music on the Resort Photos Board I definitely would have taken more but TS Fay was happening...:confused3

Just back from a stay at ASMu ad regarding the bus situation, we were not impressed. A couple of times during our stay we had good bus service (relatively prompt and efficient) but we seemed to have a lot of long waits for buses, even at "peak" times like first thing in the morning and around park closing time. Sometime the buses were shared among the all stars, sometimes not. It was very hit or miss. i would say probably about half the time ASMu had it's own bus, of the times we rode. Prior to this trip we've been staying at Pop and I have to say i think the transportation to/from Pop is much, much better. :snooty:

Our room itself, though, was very comfortable and I liked it better than Pop. But, we did have some mousekeeping issues. They were not good about leaving soap and shampoo. And we NEVER once received a bag for our ice bucket, which I found annoying. Never saw a laundry bag, either. We also had an alarm clock in our room that did not work, and after the third time telling them that we finally did get a new one. And I WAS tipping them so I would have thought we would get pretty good mousekeeping service.

So all in all we had mixed feelings about ASmu and i'm not sure if we would stay there again or not. :sad2:

thank you for the info! I now have some details about the all-star Music! Oh! one more thing is Jazz section is preferred or Standard?

The only preferred is Calypso...

jeanylaser.... are you set up to get automatic replies? I am wondering because it seems most of the questions you are asking have already been answered in previous posts.:) if not, I believe if you go into User CP (upper left side of screen) you should be able to add it so that you will be notified for any replies to the threads you subscribe.:wizard:

I just subscribe this thread! I need to know is does the All-Star Music has Extra Magic Hours? I went to this website and said it is only for the swan and dolphin and the Hilton! I don't understand! I am confused!

That other website is wrong. All Star Music is a Disney resort so you can take advantage of EMH.

There seems to be something getting lost in translation. I am NOT being cheeky in any way, but is English your first language, jennylaser?

"I need to know is does..." kind of gives it away and I think explains why you are having difficulty navigating some of these websites that usually work for the rest of us. We are so happy to help out, but it seems like most things are not getting communicated accurately.

Does anyone else feel this? Is it just me? My sister is an ESL (English as 2nd language) teacher and after reading this she agrees.

We had some of the same mousekeeping issues. We had a broken alarm clock though they did replace it after I called. I never saw a laundry bag until I requested one. We didn't have a bounceback flyer in our room. I didn't want to book a BB, but I was hoping to save the flyer for a friend with an upcoming trip to see. There was a day or 2 we didn't get soaps & shampoo and we also had an issue with a dripping shower. I called twice and it was never fixed right. However..........we were given 6 towels per day (there were 3 of us, and the extra towels were great for the pool) and the room was kept clean which to me is the most important mousekeeping factor.

Hmm, well I guess I'm glad to hear it was not just us. You're right, the room cleanliness was fine, and we never actually ran out of soap or shampoo, so i guess that was ok, too.

We didn't get a bounceback either, which was kind of a bummer. We had a fabulous trip overall and very likely would have booked again for next year.
