All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Hmm, well I guess I'm glad to hear it was not just us. You're right, the room cleanliness was fine, and we never actually ran out of soap or shampoo, so i guess that was ok, too.

We didn't get a bounceback either, which was kind of a bummer. We had a fabulous trip overall and very likely would have booked again for next year.

Hey M.M. its me.... just sent you back a P.M....
I met MuseumMouse while in Disney...walking around with her lgmh! We had a nice little chat, & she just surprised me with a nice little P.M. (gotta love dis'ers!) :lovestruc

Our room was VERY clean, mattresses were just put in the end of August/Sept. (label on the mattress said mid/end of Aug.), plenty of soap/shampoo...

Mousekeeping was pretty funny.. (We were in Jazz).. I bought 3 little stuffed animals... (donald, goofy, pluto) every day when we'd come home they'd put them someplace different, had animal towels, etc. We did notice we had a male "mousekeeper"...

however.... we never got a laundry bag, (we really didn't need it, but found it odd), BUT.... our bathroom light was starting to flicker. I called down and someone was up to fix it within :10 min, then a couple of hours later we got a phone call asking if it was fixed. The next day we had a voicemail on the room phone following up to make sure it was done.

Hi, Justplaingoofy! Sent you another PM. ;)

Yes, I know we had new mattresses in our room, too, and they were among the most comfy hotel mattresses I've ever slept on. Really great. When we stopped back at the resort midday we saw big stacks of new mattresses still wrapped in plastic piled high on carts so they are apparently still working on getting them all changed out.

Hey all, just wondering if the construction in the food court is complete...anyone know?

TIA!

safetymom Thank you for this info! And anyone thank you! Oh! I can't wait to stay in the all-star music I hope it is Broadway or Jazz!

I was just wondering if anyone knows exactly what they are doing to the food court? We have stayed at ASMusic in the past, and we are staying here again in November. I just am trying to picture what they could do to the food court. I mean besides new carpet and painting, I am curious as to what they could be doing.

I need to know something they have some new foodcourts in the all-star music? and Oh! One more thing What time is the shops close at the All-Star Music! And the name of the store in All-Star Music!

You may greatly benefit from using the search function at the top of the page. I know that www.allears.net is a wealth of good stuff regarding the resorts.

The food court has always been at ASMusic. It is actually called the Intermisson Food Court. The food court has different sections. A bakery, The Market, The Grill, The Specialty Shop, The Pizza Shop. Each of these has different items for breakfast. Then they all have different food for lunch and dinner.

The merchandise store is called Maestro Mickey's.

When we were there last year the food court was open from 6:00 am-12:00am. Maestro Mickey's was open from 7:00 am.-11:00 pm.

That sounds like the same lay out as the Food Court down by The Land in EPCOT.

The food there seemed surprisingly good when we were there last time.

We just got back today from a weeks stay at ASMu.

Yes - they are STILL doing some sort of construction in the lobby area where you would walk through to get to the buses. AND in the food court perfectly DEAD CENTER of it. It was actually a pain when you had to walk through to refill your drink or when you had a tray of food - the big wall seperators were practically ON TOP of the cashiers. Have no clue what they are doing - NEVER saw ANYONE working or heard ANYTHING!! I was annoyed to find that upon check-in - don't see that refurb info anywhere!!

We had a family suite and found it quite dirty on check in - hairs in bathroom & on floor I even found one in the FRIDGE!!!!!!!! EEWWW!!!! Plus I found 3 empty candy wrappers wedged under the extra pillows in the closet area. I was upset but my DH said to let it go... so I did. THEN I found an empty soda bottle that dropped between the wall & nightstand - couldn't believe my eyes!! Again - DH said to let it go!! It was gone when I checked a few days later.

I am a self admitted hotel snob but come on!!! This is basic cleanliness.

Our couch & chairs were stained and looked real worn and faded. I didn't want to sit on them. It looked like they were vinyl on the pics??? Ours were fabric. They looked 10 years old!!

I am mad at myself for listening to my DH. I should have said something. But we have no idea how many rooms these poor people have to clean and how much time they have to do it in. Next time I won't stand for it. We still paid lots of $$ to be there.

That being said, I would stay there again. The suites are just perfect for us. There were dedicated buses for MK & Epcot. Food court was decent. (Could use more food options and be larger like POP) Pools were well staffed and they were cleaning the concrete constantly. There were towels avail. at the pool, too. Only at night was there slim pickins.

When we were waiting for ME this mourning a CM asked me to do a survey, so I let them know then about the issues. But I am going to send WDW an email.

We still had a faboulous time.

As FJJM0621 stated, yes they are still working on the re-furb in the food court and lobby areas - at least as of last Friday, which is the day we left. But we were not really bothered by it. We did have to either walk through the shop or walk all the way aroudn the building to get to the bus stops, tho. And I'm betting folks who use the food court in the morning for breakfast found the walled off area to be a bit of an obstacle in the crowds. (we bring our own breakfast food - a strategy i highly recommend. saves both money and time! But I digress...) I think the worst part was that the nearest restrooms were actually at the pool.

We leave Friday AM (Sept 19) for the ASMu. Can't wait. I'll update the construction when we get back home, but that will not be till 9-29-08.
Hope the construction is finished before the end of our trip.

Have a great trip, say :wave2: to Mickey and the gang.

This is a good suggestion to try first, but that's fine if it's working, but sometimes no matter what I type in to the search engine it refuses to pull up anything for me.:confused3

Usually other people will be more than happy to answer questions when I can't find the answer by searching.:thumbsup2

Guess there's no new updates on the construction. We leave out early tomorrow :cool1: and will find out for ourselves. I'll report after we get back home.
