I love my new camera! My pics are so much clearer and the colors are so bright! Here's a nice angle of the castle while waiting for our Crystal Palace ADR. Notice DFi shivering in the corner of the shot. When we left our room that morning, weather channel said it was 38 degrees!! This was last Thursday. Luckily it warmed up for the rest of the weekend.

My DH has been disappointed in the past that Roger Rabbit is nowhere to be found in WDW...that is until our latest trip when we saw this ;)

Take him to Pop Century and head for the 80s section. There is one there that is 4 stories tall.

If I may ask Joe and Jeff, what do both of you guys feel are the advantages of the Sigma 30mm 1.4 over say the Nikon 50mm 1.8 (other than being a faster lens)? It wouldn't quite be considered a wide-angle lens, would it?

Thanks,

~Alan

The Sigma is slightly faster- 1.4 vs 1.8- but you can also hand hold shots at a slower shutter speed at 30mm than you can at 50mm. Using the old rule of thumb that you should keep the shutter faster than the focal length- you can shoot at 1/30th Sec in lieu of 1/50th Sec. And with the crop factor on must DSLR's the range is what was once termed 'normal'.

Aside from all that- to me there is just something magic about that lens. I have only had it for a few weeks but have yet to put it on the camera that I have not have a few jaw dropping shots result- including the Baptism I shot today. ;)

I agree, fantastic capture- the colors are stunning!
If I may also ask- do you recall the f-stop and shutter speed and focal length you were using for this picture, and were you in Manual, Aperture-priority or Shutter-priority mode (can't see the Exif info. on your picture)? Just curious, as I would love to be able to try and duplicate your results in a future shot taken at night in teh park!
Thanks,
Alan

Thank you for the kind words, and I sent you a PM with where you can see the exif data.

2angelsinheaven - Wow, very nice shot during Fantasmic! I've yet to get a decent shot of Mickey during this show, and you got it perfect! :thumbsup2

ziggybaby - I LOVE CBR (it is by far my favorite resort), and I love the sunsets at Disney. Great shot of both of them! :cool1:

Here is mine for today, taken with my old point and shoot:
