All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Be very careful about where you choose to sit in this place! ;)

Everything around here sings or plays an instrument.

IMG_6838.jpg

I like the new/ old show. It is not exactly the original but I like the tikis and the storm.

It was good to see the old show again, but I was fine with the New Management version, too. There aren't many things WDW does that I don't like. The only one I really wish they would do something to is Stitch's Great Escape. If they took five minutes to think about it, there are many cute and more family-friendly things they could do with Stitch.

I would love something with the Incredibles.

We browsed through the marketplace.

IMG_6841.jpg

I need to find that sign. never seen it. :lmao:

I WANT THAT BAG.

I have been looking for clips like that.

What's the answer, DIStown boys and girls?

IMG_6850.jpg

He freed the genie right? I love Robin Williams in that movie.

You brought te funny this time. :rotfl:

I spent time there in Oct but obviously not in Dec. Putting it on the list for July for sure.

MeMom, you need to take your comedy act on the road!
You my dear are a hoot!

Those skirts are the cutest things. I sure wish they had been out earlier than this year... I am sure we would have had one or two :rolleyes1!

********************************************

If you wake up in the middle of the night and the phrase that greets you out of your brain is-

A dream is a wish your potato makes.....

is there any hidden meaning to that?

Maybe I was dreaming we were at a meal in Disney World? Maybe I was at home eating a potato and making some Disney plans? I don't remember the dream. I just remember waking up and having that verse coming out of my brain. Good thing I wasn't sleep singing. People might think I am crazy or something. ;)

I like potatoes, though.
Mashed, fried, boiled, or baked, I'm happy with them! :goodvibes

:lmao:

I can't believe I'm leaving on Friday!!! 48 hours from now, I'll (hopefully) be asleep since I have to wake up at about 3:30 AM. This time tomorrow, my mom will be on vacation. She's taking the day off on Thursday to take care of last minute stuff for my grandma. Unfortunately, I'll have to go to school. I was planning on skipping but I ended up doing that last Thursday...so it's my own fault  Oh well, I'll be so excited it probably won't even bother me. I have one more midterm tomorrow. Thursday I just have to sit through my two classes. I'll be there physically but my brain will probably already be in Disney :rolleyes1

I can't wait to get a break from school. I've had sooo much work the last week and a half. I'll be busy after we get back from Disney too. I have a take-home test due March 20, a psych test March 22, and I think something else I'm forgetting...but I'm not worrying about any of that until we get home. I made my mom promise not to let me think about school work while we're there

I'm glad I've already started a Disney packing pile. If I had to get everything together Thursday night I'd never get it done! I don't even get home from school until after 4:30 depending on traffic. Luckily I was smart and made my packing list weeks ago. I actually made it for the January trip that never happened, and I've had it since then  I had a horrifying dream this week that I forgot to pack my camera :scared1:

Love this update in Adventureland! Between "watching your head," leaking buckets, and being careful where you sit in the Tiki Room, you had me laughing throughout, MeMom. Plus, you had wooden giraffes -- and I always like seeing giraffes, both real and carved. :thumbsup2

I don't see a giraffe that I don't think of you, Jackie. Just like you probably don't see a mingo without thinking of Bella. ;)

I have never flown on the magic carpets so it was nice seeing shots from up above.

Great pics to start my Tues. morning.:goodvibes

Put it on your to do list. Everybody ought to have a go on a magic carpet once in a lifetime! :thumbsup2

I never noticed the genies painted on the Magic Carpet ride! I do love all of the gemstones and other fun objects in the ground in Adventureland!

Aladdin's last wish: to let the genie free! :yay:

Disney details. I don't know that we will ever manage to see (and recall that we saw) them all.

Brooklynn wanted to spend more time looking for jewels in the ground, but we wanted to make the Tiki show that was about to start. That's something I can let her do more of when she and I are doing our wandering around.

Perfect start to the morning! I have to say, I am not sure I ever noticed those details in the Adventureland sign and for sure have never seen the treasure in the street! I just love that there are still new things to see even for a semi-frequent visitor. Next time I will try not to be so focused on getting my Dole Whip fix and look around!

Glad you had fun at Disney Live. Kind of odd about the pictures but as long as you had fun, that's all that counts!

It's been a while since we've stopped for Dole Whips. It could be time for one this summer. I'm a bigger fan of root beer floats, though, so that hinders me from get Dole Whips sometimes.

We had a fun afternoon. The Disney on Ice shows have been much better, but since we didn't get a spring break trip, we'll take whatever Disney we can get right now. :wizard:

It was great starting my morning in Adventure Land. I look forward to the new old bird show. I enjoyed the other version , it was cute, but with all the new rides and closing Snow White. It is nice to go back to a show that Walt and Roy had a hand in planning.

I agree. ::yes::

Thanks for the walk into Adventureland! What a nice way to start the morning.

I also wish they'd do something besides Stitch's ride. They must have a contract they're honoring because I don't think I've heard anyone who likes it.

Tiki Room is on my list for next time!! I've never been!! We tried to go in January but it wasn't open.

I got to have a walk through Germany and Italy this morning on another report. Gotta love the DIS to start our days out in a great way!

Stitch will change eventually. They could do some cute things with his character and the Lilo and Stitch them, rather than focus on the alien aspect of it. I think little kids would like that better.

You know, I was fine with the New Management version of the Tiki Room as well, but it is nice to have the original back. To me, it just seems a little more...pleasant? Iago is a big meanie in Aladdin so why would we go see his show?! I wish my bedroom looked like the Tiki Room! I find it very relaxing in there!

You girls are very brave to ride on the flying carpets too! With my fear of heights I have to really talk myself up before I can get on! Oh I'll go on ToT or EE with no problem, but have a huge fear of the Flying Carpets and Astro Orbiter!

I was glad to see the old show again, but I wasn't against the last one like some die-hard Disney people were. It doesn't take a lot to make me happy.

Isn't it odd how our 'fears' affect us? I am not afraid of EE, but it is a little too intense for me. I like Big Thunder much better.

you were cracking me up! GREAT update! I totally agree about Stitch too!

Glad to have you here! We will keep hinting until WDW hears us and fixes it. ;)

To free the Genie!!!! What a guy. :thumbsup2

Cute update! I love the Agrabah area of Adventureland. So lovely.

I like the atmosphere around Adventureland when it's bright and sunny and hot. It seems very jungle-y. I like Tomorrowland better at night when all of the lights are on.

It is so nice that Bella is an early riser and that you can have some time together

I love the pictures from the carpets. I have never been on them:confused3 I think I send DH so that I can get a Dole Whip and enjoy it without having to share:laughing:

She wakes up smiling, for the most part, and she's ready to go within minutes. That's how I am. Brooklynn likes to be slowly awakened and patted and rubbed on as she greets the day. She used to be a real pain to get up and get dressed for a rope drop, but now we know just to start earlier and let her wake up slower and she does just fine.

You need to take a zoom on a carpet at least once. You can spring for two Dole Whips afterward. ;)

Wow, I can honestly say I've never even seen that shop! There are so many things that even us Disney dorks haven't seen yet...great reasons to keep going back :thumbsup2

And with all of the new expansion, they'll have us coming back over and over again for many years. For life, even! :goodvibes

Two updates behind...

First, those pictures of Bella need to go in frames!!!

I saw a lime green Dumbo (a personal friend of mine.)

I love the wack a mole reference...that is like our school with headphones and cell phones...UGH.

Speaking of jumping from one topic to another, I asked my AP students to list everything they've learned on one side of a paper and all of the things they still need practice with on the other. When they shared out, the first response was "Everything leads back to Disney." I think I've taught them well :lmao:

(My tenth graders believe that I taught them that money is the root of all evil...(Poem by Sanburg with Steinbeck's The Pearl) - Honesty, I love those kids! It's okay, though, next year the Disney lesson.

Thanks for the visit to Adventureland. Your first picture has such great clarity!

My second-graders get a kick out of my Disney love. Any time kids from other classes come in for any reason - to bring a note or deliver something or whatever - I see them looking around the room at all of the Nemo stuff. Some say something, some grin, and some are too afraid to mention it, I guess. Teachers aren't supposed to like kid things, are they??? :upsidedow

Enjoyed the stroll through Adventureland! :)

I've never visited Stitch in his TomorrowLand home. I saw Alien Encounter when it was in the same location, and that was enough for me!

You haven't missed anything. When the strapped in part ended, I thought it was the pre-show and we were then going into the real part. I was so wrong. :guilty: I think they will do something fun there eventually. Stitch, as it is now, can't go on forever. Hopefully.

I like the new/ old show. It is not exactly the original but I like the tikis and the storm.

I hadn't thought about The Incredibles. That could be a possibility. I thought maybe they'd put a Monsters, Inc. ride, as it was rumored at one time, but I have no idea about the available space there. I like the Lilo and Stitch theme just fine, and if they wanted to stay with Stitch, maybe they could make some kind of Hawaiian/surfing some kind of attraction. I don't know that that would fit into a Tomorrowland theme. It's anybody's guess what it will be and when it will change, but we'll keep our ears open for the rumors.

MeMom, you need to take your comedy act on the road!
You my dear are a hoot!

How well does it pay, and how many Disney trips a year can I get out of it. That's all that matters. :)

Those skirts are the cutest things. I sure wish they had been out earlier than this year... I am sure we would have had one or two :rolleyes1!

Those skirts are cute. The girls are getting skirts to wear for Bella's birthday. Bella is getting Ariel, and Brooklynn chose Jasmine.

It's almost time! :tigger:

It's almost time! :goofy:

I may be a little excited for you! :woohoo:

No thinking of school. The closest thing you will get to school is sending me pictures while I am at mine. :teacher: You will bring me smiles and make things much nicer for my whole class. When I am happy, they are happy. When they are happy, they are nicer to the rest of the school, so everyone is happy. See how important your trip is to so many people??? :goodvibes

Just wanted to say, I'm late as usual but I'm here reading now. Only thing is I'm back on page 2. I'll catch up one of these days. ;) Love the group shot in the beginning. The girls are growing up so fast. I see them from time to time on FB. Looking forward to reading all about your trip.

Getting all caught up!

Love your pictures of the MK tree. It is never up when we are there at Thanksgiving. I would so love to be at the MK over the Christmas holiday. Maybe some time.................

How nice that you and Bella got some together time. She is just adorable on the carousel.

Where is that shop in Adventureland? I have never been in there. They have some really neat things.

Jeremy and I visisted the Tiki Room in November. The first time we were ever there Jeremy was little and it scared him to death. We ended up leaving early and he would never go back. I thought it was a cute show.

And there's another reason for going to Disney; it makes my DIS friends and the people around them happier :thumbsup2 (As if I needed another excuse to go :upsidedow ;)) I really do love sharing my trips with my DIS friends! :goodvibes

I'm taking my midterm in about 20 minutes, then I don't have any school work due until after we get back :worship: I got a B on my history midterm and an A on my paper :yay: I should be getting my other paper back today too.

I'll be in Orlando in less than 48 hours!!! :dance3:

Oh, wow, definitely saw some things in your pictures that I had never seen before...like the treasure in the cement! I don't think I've ever seen that shop, either. Really cool!

Been there quit a few times and never saw that shop either! It just goes to show ya how huge the place really is!

So glad to have you, Cathy! We miss some of our old pals being around, but we know everyone is so busy.

I do hope you get to have the full Disney Christmas experience sometime. It is a pretty awesome feeling to be in Magic Kingdom on Christmas Day, I must say.

The shop is over by the camel.

So, how did Jeremy like the Tiki Room this time?

You can look for those and other Disney details on your next magical trip. :wizard:

Huge is right, and there are so many details. It can keep us going back over and over again and always finding something new. :)

Walking around in another time.

We made plans to go over to the island during this trip.

I needed to go in Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe to try to find a 2011 ornament for Kelli (lovemy3babes). She asked if I could send her one and she'd pay me later, and of course that was no problem.

Jill has this ornament, but a piece of it broke this year.

We won't be in Disney World next Christmas, but maybe the next one.

IMG_6866.jpg

The lady at the counter told me there were no more ornaments with 2011 on them. I guess she didn't know about this rack. I just happened upon it.

IMG_6867.jpg

They didn't have the bulb-type ones, but they had cute character ones.

I started sending Kelli pictures of different ones, but then I decided to just call and tell her all of them, as it would be easier than taking a bunch of pictures.

IMG_6868.jpg

IMG_6869.jpg

She made her choice - I will let her tell you which one - and we headed to the counter.

Here is a picture of the CM getting Kelli's ornament ready for shipment.

IMG_6870.jpg

I was very happy to be able to find this for her.

I haven't been in either of those shops (Adventureland or Christmas ) or done the either version of the Tiki room!!! There are always new things to see!!
What day are you on? (since I'm behind I wasn't sure!! :) ) 12/30?

What a cutie. Bella and the CM.

The guy was very sweet. I told Kelli I was taking a picture of him as he was getting her package ready. It was fun for her to be 'in' Magic Kingdom at that moment. :goodvibes

I agree with Pat. Very cute pic of Bella. (Love the way she has her left hand).

She's a sweetie! :lovestruc She didn't want me to put her down. She kept saying, "I want to hold you." She only had to sit there for like three minutes while I filled out the paperwork.

Thanks I feel so much better now that all of that work is behind me! I just have to make it through two classes tomorrow. My mom is officially on vacation. I'm jealous

I'll be eating dinner there on Friday

Maybe you can send me a picture from Liberty Tree. :thumbsup2

I'm sure your mom very much deserves this time away from all her stresses. Tell her hello from the 'meet at Wilderness Lodge porch' gang. :wave2:

Always something new - ::yes::. Isn't it great? :)

You give me far too much credit, friend!
The 30th?
How about part way through the 27th? :rolleyes1

I told Jill last night to go ahead and load the next day's pictures, because I only have 4 pages of the 27th left. I'll keep plugging along. During spring break, I'll have time to put up a bunch of updates, too. I have until June 22nd to finish. ;)

I have a hankering for a visit to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe -- I think it's about time for new ornaments at our house. LOL!

Hurray for finding some with 2011 on them -- I really like the Little Green Men one.

I love the Ye Old Christmas Shoppe! I'm really terrible at transporting ornaments, however. A good percentage of them usually break on the way home, unfortunately.

I'm glad you were able to find 2011 ornaments!! And that picture of Bella and the CM is too cute! :goodvibes
