All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Too bad they wouldn't let you take pictures. I bet most people had cameras with them.:sad2:

Oh well you got some Disney time with all your girls.:goodvibes

A lot of people were ignoring them. It was like playing Whack a Mole. They would chastise one person, and then another one on the other side would start shooting - some with flash and some without. At the finale, nearly everybody was pulling cameras and phones out, and the ushers were making no attempt to stop anyone. My camera was in my purse in the dark, of course, so I told Jill to go ahead and get a couple with her phone at that point and take one. I think she may have taken two, but that's all we have of the show. Like I said, it was good, but by no means great, so I don't have any huge regrets at not having pictures.

I never tire of the castle show either. I love it! When Minnie gets to feel like a princess...I love it! :) I'm glad you guys had fun at Disney live!

I know! When Mickey tells Minnie she's always been a princess to him, it's so sweet.

Just realized something!
First a brag- My dd (12) team won their Odyssey of the Mind Regional competition :cool1: this Sat and are going to State Competition in.... Orlando! So besides her team achieving this Ah-mazing thing this trip to States will (usually) include a day trip to Epcot the day after the competition!!!

I knew Daisy was a smart girl.
Tell her Congratulations! from DIStown!

A day in Epcot will be a nice reward. :cool1:

Yay for Fantasyland fun! Bella has some good choice in rides, :thumbsup2 to the lovely carousel. Did she get to ride on Cinderella's horse? (: Great pictures of the FLE from Dumbo, too bad you can't get such great shots anymore, but I'm so excited for it's reopening. Maybe, whenever I go back in 2013 that will be open for me to enjoy its new location :) Love the picture of Bella and Brooklynn with the White Rabbit, love it when characters get down on their knees for the little ones :goodvibes So great that Bella calls Maleficent the "ha ha" girl, though I wouldn't tell Maleficent that O_O  Gotta make note to see all of the Castle show btw ;)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

P.S. Glad you and the girls enjoyed Disney Live! Sounds like lots of fun :)

Thanks. We are crazy proud!! Of course my Disney hating hubby hasn't put 2 n2 together about Epcot yet. Lol.

Did you think Disney live was worth it? I was debating about it back and forth with myself. We have been to several previously and they really haven't been up to Disney standards.

My camera will be very busy when the Fantasyland things open up. ::yes:: I'm sure much of it will be finished when you go in 2013.

The castle show is cute, and it only lasts a short time. It's worth stopping, at least in my opinion.

I don't think Disney Live was worth any more than we paid for it, for sure. We got the $30 tickets, which was mid-range, as they went up to $55 and down to about $17. At the price I paid, we were on Row 9, so we couldn't complain at all about seat location! I'm not really sure how that happened, but we were quite happy. As far as quality, it was okay for a non-Disney World going person, I think, but Jill and I both felt like you, it wasn't really all that fantastic. It wasn't nearly as good as the Disney on Ice shows. It was good for a small dose of Disney, but on the Disney Magic Meter, it didn't go very hig for us. The girls enjoyed it, and that's what is important. :lovestruc

After watching Minnie's dream of being a princess come true, we headed off to Adventureland.

Watch your head. That phrase takes on a serious meaning as you cross over this bridge. ::yes::

Our first adventure was to avoid being spit on by a haughty-looking camel.

What magic does this lamp hold?

IMG_6812.jpg

(Not that anyone can get to it to find out. It's completely out of reach. :))

Wonder how many Genies are painted on that thing? One of those Disney trivia questions for Disney dorks like me.

Brooklynn was the pilot for this carpet ride. Not sure what the look was about. I think she thought the controller didn't work at first. I remember her saying something like that, but it worked fine when we got started.

After flying around town on a magic carpet, it was time for the tamer activity of bird watching, so we were off to the Tiki Room.

There's a hole in his bucket, I do believe.

It was good to see the old show again, but I was fine with the New Management version, too. There aren't many things WDW does that I don't like. The only one I really wish they would do something to is Stitch's Great Escape. If they took five minutes to think about it, there are many cute and more family-friendly things they could do with Stitch.

We browsed through the marketplace.

Snake pen, anyone?

IMG_6845.jpg

No, we didn't add a new animal to the bunch here. We just looked.

IMG_6847.jpg

I didn't realize that football and basketball were the going thing in Agrabah, but did you look in that barrel? I guess they were the original 'Aggies'?

What's the answer, DIStown boys and girls?

:lmao: Love this update in Adventureland! Between "watching your head," leaking buckets, and being careful where you sit in the Tiki Room, you had me laughing throughout, MeMom. Plus, you had wooden giraffes -- and I always like seeing giraffes, both real and carved. :thumbsup2

I have never flown on the magic carpets so it was nice seeing shots from up above.

Great pics to start my Tues. morning.:goodvibes

I never noticed the genies painted on the Magic Carpet ride! I do love all of the gemstones and other fun objects in the ground in Adventureland!

Aladdin's last wish: to let the genie free! :yay:

Perfect start to the morning! I have to say, I am not sure I ever noticed those details in the Adventureland sign and for sure have never seen the treasure in the street! I just love that there are still new things to see even for a semi-frequent visitor. :goodvibes Next time I will try not to be so focused on getting my Dole Whip fix and look around!

Glad you had fun at Disney Live. Kind of odd about the pictures but as long as you had fun, that's all that counts!

It was great starting my morning in Adventure Land. I look forward to the new old bird show. I enjoyed the other version , it was cute, but with all the new rides and closing Snow White. It is nice to go back to a show that Walt and Roy had a hand in planning.

Thanks for the walk into Adventureland! What a nice way to start the morning.

I also wish they'd do something besides Stitch's ride. They must have a contract they're honoring because I don't think I've heard anyone who likes it.

Tiki Room is on my list for next time!! I've never been!! We tried to go in January but it wasn't open.

You know, I was fine with the New Management version of the Tiki Room as well, but it is nice to have the original back. To me, it just seems a little more...pleasant?:confused3 Iago is a big meanie in Aladdin so why would we go see his show?! I wish my bedroom looked like the Tiki Room! I find it very relaxing in there!

You girls are very brave to ride on the flying carpets too! With my fear of heights I have to really talk myself up before I can get on!:rotfl: Oh I'll go on ToT or EE with no problem, but have a huge fear of the Flying Carpets and Astro Orbiter!

you were cracking me up! GREAT update! I totally agree about Stitch too!

To free the Genie!!!! What a guy. :thumbsup2

Cute update! I love the Agrabah area of Adventureland. So lovely.

It is so nice that Bella is an early riser and that you can have some time together:goodvibes

I love the pictures from the carpets. I have never been on them:confused3 I think I send DH so that I can get a Dole Whip and enjoy it without having to share:laughing:

Wow, I can honestly say I've never even seen that shop! There are so many things that even us Disney dorks haven't seen yet...great reasons to keep going back :thumbsup2

Two updates behind...

First, those pictures of Bella need to go in frames!!!

I saw a lime green Dumbo (a personal friend of mine.)

I love the wack a mole reference...that is like our school with headphones and cell phones...UGH.

Speaking of jumping from one topic to another, I asked my AP students to list everything they've learned on one side of a paper and all of the things they still need practice with on the other. When they shared out, the first response was "Everything leads back to Disney." I think I've taught them well :lmao:

(My tenth graders believe that I taught them that money is the root of all evil...(Poem by Sanburg with Steinbeck's The Pearl) :scared1: - Honesty, I love those kids! It's okay, though, next year the Disney lesson.

Thanks for the visit to Adventureland. Your first picture has such great clarity!

Enjoyed the stroll through Adventureland! :)

I've never visited Stitch in his TomorrowLand home. I saw Alien Encounter when it was in the same location, and that was enough for me!
