All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

Yayayay! for summer plans!
I was counting on those dates anyway!

Now just to get everyone else to make decisions, like Trent, Jarvis, Megan....

Megan is just hesitant because of flight costs.
It seems that her mother hasn't offered to pay this time.:rolleyes1

I don't blame Brooklynn for being scared of the ghosts. I love that ride best of all in Disney World and I still get a little bit creeped out by the ghost-y stuff in there!

Those EMH sure are the way to go, aren't they?? What a great thing to ride over & over!!

I'll have to post some before & after pics as things get done. Instead of moving, I decided to do some remodeling/redecorating instead :) That's been occupying my free time lately!! :)

You must have felt like a VIP family having all of DHS to yourselves!

That fog is really eerie! Great photo opportunity for ToT definitely! Brooklynn is definitely a brave girl! My DNeice would never ride with me even if I paid her! And Brooklynn didn't quite convince me with her scared face either! She must just be too brave to be scared!;)

Name the DISers!

IMG_6351.jpg

They always have Christina, but never Christine :sad2: I don't think I've ever found any Christine items in Disney.

This year I need to get a Tower of Terror shirt! I always say I'll go back later in the trip to get one and I always forget.

Brooklynn is much braver than me. I wouldn't go on that until I was almost 16 :rotfl: And yet I went on Rock n Roller Coaster when I was little. :confused3 But I had my dad with me that time. We would've gone on ToT but I think I was too short. Every trip after that I was too scared to do it alone and my mom wasn't sure if she could go on because of her back problems. Of course now it's one of my favorites

I woke up with a stuffed up nose on Saturday and I was wondering if whatever you had was contagious through the computer ;) I'm a little bit sniffly today but other than that I'm fine. I'm trying to avoid getting sick so I don't miss class between now and my trip so I won't feel guilty for potentially skipping the day before we leave

Hey all!! I got MeMom's text and finally made my way over. ;) My dad was at work on a Monday cause he had some time off from his full time job. I'll be back later to catch up on the whole report.

I'm officially done with my Associates Degree (graduation is in March) so school work won't be keeping me away any more. I'm currently looking for work in my degree field. It may be more difficult than I hoped because I do not have any professional work in a childcare setting. I think some volunteer work will help me out. It's just been a little discouraging being told that even with a degree, I may not be able to do the work I want.

You are welcome to come to Disneyland with me anytime you want! We try to make it at least once during every "season". We have SoCal AP's so we can only go during the week, but since we are modified year round schools, we usually can make it work.. or once in awhile, we will have a "sick day". We are "sick" of school and need a break! ;) For my DD's project for art class, she has to take pictures and make them into a book. See... it'd be perfect for you to come and help us out! I love taking pictures also, so this project is a great one for me. There are lots of changes/work being done at Disneyland, so hopefully we can work around all the covered up areas. There will be a lot of wandering and not much rides being ridden, which is fine with me as I am more of a "bag holder" & people watcher than a rider.

TOT... UCK! My one REALLY big fear is of elevators and free falling. I have ridden in the past, and I did suck it up and rode with my hubby in the Fall, and I never screamed so much in my life. I was just going to walk thru the queue with him and take the chicken out path, but he talked me into it.. NEVER again!

I still can't get over how empty everything was for you guys!!! That's too funny that Brooklynn agreed to ride with you for $1 .

Yummm Starring Rolls :cloud9:.

I wanted Brooklynn to ride, but if she didn't want to, I wouldn't have pushed the issue, but Jill said she'd give her a dollar before she balked, and she took it gladly.

I had to come over and celebrate!

I just booked Pop Century for May 29-June 2. We are going to Universal June 2-8 but I couldn't get Mickey off my mind. My niece and nephew are going with us again this trip but they can't come down until the 2nd. DH and my Mom can't come down until that day also, so I am taking my boys early. I am planning on surprising them the morning we leave. The only pesky little thing is money. The hotel is not an issue but tickets for 5 days might be. So, right now, I am planning on doing non theme park stuff. We might go play mini golf, Disney Quest or resort hop. It doesn't matter to me. As long as I am on Disney property, I am happy. We usually stay offsite so I am super excited to stay at POP.:cool1:

I am so, so excited for you!!! :cheer2: :yay:

I hope you enjoy Pop, and there will be plenty to do and see without park tickets.

:lmao: at bribing Brooklynn to ride TOT. I don't really care for TOT, but I'll ride it. I hate the falling feeling, it really freaks me out.

I'm loving the empty park pictures.

I love the ride. I don't love it when the elevator is closed, but after it opens, I'm good.

What was in the Mickey mugs?

I was wondering the same thing. :confused3

You know, I thought there was some kind of cupcake and frosting in there, but I guess someone else knew better.

YAY for the new trip! Very exciting. :thumbsup2
Seeing Pixar Place that empty is the stuff dreams are made of.
Wow, that fog really adds to the 'spooky' effect for Tower of Terror!

Jill and I are discussing the new trip right now. I'm on the phone with her. ;)

I only get to morning EMH depending on who I travel with. It's not often sadly, but I do see the benefit of it for sure. There was barely anyone there for you guys!

We'll meet you in an early morning park one of these days, if you can sneak away from your sleeping people. :thumbsup2

I could go for one of those chocolate muffins right now!

I normally like something with only bits of chocolate in it, but for whatever reason, I went for all chocolate that morning. I got the chocolate chocolate muffin.

I would love to be in the park to take ToT pictures in the fog. You could get some really cool shots.

I still can't get over how empty the park was that morning.

It was very nice not to have to weave through crowds.

Wow, Inflation is hitting everyone, especially Jill. Brooklynn's bribe price sure has increaed.

Something about those PP pictures look familiar.

Jill didn't even try a quarter bribe first. She went straight to the big buck.

Brooklyn is so brave! Wish I had the nerve to ride all that stuff. And you riding with no hands!

So what do you guys like to order at Staring Rolls. We ate there for the first time last year and I'd love to know what you like there.

The blueberry muffins are good, as are the apple turnovers. The girls like cinnamon rolls, but I'm not a huge fan of those. They are gigantic. The Butterfinger cupcake is fabulous. :thumbsup2

Love love love the picture of Tower of Terror in the spooky-ish fog!

I wish someone would pay me to ride ToT....I'd make a killin'! Glad you got to ride it with Brooklynn.

If Brooklynn can do it, all of you scaredy cat grown-ups can, too. ::yes::

It was ice cream.
Lexi got one and loved the souvenir mug.
Now it sits beside the Donald one from the Halloween Party in the cabinet.

*********************************

Glad your all booked now! How exciting that you will get some special time with Brooklynn.

You couldn't offer me enough money to go on ToT...Brooklynn is a brave girl.

Mmmm...... those morning treats look very tasty!

I'm glad you knew what it was. I took pictures, but at a glance, it looked like regular frosting, so I thought they had put cupcakes down in there.

Megan is just hesitant because of flight costs.
It seems that her mother hasn't offered to pay this time.

I don't know when the guys will know. I hope they will come for a few days.

It would take more than a dollar to convince me to ride ToT! :lmao:

I spy two of my crew in those names!

Yep, your two DIS family members can officially ride ToT. If I find a Jackie, you have to ride, too. :goodvibes

Why don't we have a ToT meet in June?

I don't blame Brooklynn for being scared of the ghosts. I love that ride best of all in Disney World and I still get a little bit creeped out by the ghost-y stuff in there!

I admit, I like the ride more than the ghosts, too.

Those EMH sure are the way to go, aren't they?? What a great thing to ride over & over!!

I'll have to post some before & after pics as things get done. Instead of moving, I decided to do some remodeling/redecorating instead That's been occupying my free time lately!!

That must be fun. We will look forward to pictures. I am hoping to hold back a little income tax money for possibly a new kitchen sink.

I love the cute Mickey mugs

They are cute. :)

You must have felt like a VIP family having all of DHS to yourselves!

The fog was a nice touch for ToT. :thumbsup2

Neither Christine nor Christina are in the top modern names, so I am surprised they had either. I always expect Jessica and Ashley and those kinds of names, but it is fun to read all of the ones they have on all the different things. I doubt we will ever find a Brooklynn with double nn at the end.

I hope you don't get the cold I had. It's almost gone now, so I'd say it was about ten days long. Too long.

It's just been a little discouraging being told that even with a degree, I may not be able to do the work I want.

I thought you might want to see a picture of your dad. :goodvibes

You will get a job in childcare. It might not be exactly what you want at first, but you'll keep getting better and better situations.

You are welcome to come to Disneyland with me anytime you want! We try to make it at least once during every "season". You'll have to show us the finished product.

I am not a bit afraid of heights or of free falling, but I am terrified of enclosed places, so I can relate to the fear itself!

Wow - what an empty park! Wasn't that the day after Christmas? :confused3 And it was definitely foggy too!

Glad to hear your summer plans are booked! :thumbsup2

Love the pics of TOT with the fog. I may have to ride it in march with Chloe (DD). She is much more of a dare devil than I am. I used to ride all the big rides but it seems that age has made me a bigger ride chicken. I saw my name in the pics :). When I was a kid i could never find my name spelled correctly.

Too funny that Brooklynn's bribery rate now includes a cost of living increase. Smart girl ;)

Loving the updates... so funny at how short the days are and how dark EMH were, but for those crowds wow!

Joining in...I'm so excited to be reading another one of your reports! :goodvibes I'm going to have to live vicariously through you guys since the week between Christmas and New Years is one of my favorite times to visit!!! I just love all of the beautiful decorations! :thumbsup2

The pics of ToT in the fog are very cool and spooky! I love it! And the lack of crowds...WOW!!! :woohoo:

So glad to hear your summer plans are booked...how exciting!!!

Perfect weather for TOT! We were at the tip boards just as I saw you guys stand up to leave Starring Rolls. I was going to go over, but the girls wanted to go see Piglet. The line was cut off and so then we made our towards TSM and I had my eyes pealed, but you guys were long gone.
Yay for an extra long summer trip. You can use your the AP the day it expires. I do it every year! You and Brooklynn will have a great time doing non-park things and plus the parks will be hot and crowded anyways.

Way to go Bella for doing well with the characters this trip!!
Glad the wallet was found before you left for the airport.

I always get nostalgic when I see a Pop CM doing a checkin.

I love the picture of Brooklynn at the bag check.

My dad got me that shirt for Christmas and some pajama bottoms.

Wow! I can't believe Goofy's area is not a water area anymore.

I will be experiencing the Disney World 28 weeks pregnant in the heat of the summer.

Brooklynn and Bella will be big sisters in September!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!Congratulations JILL!!!!!!!!:banana::banana::banana::dance3::dance3::dance3::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I am SOO happy for you and your family!!! I have the biggest smile on my face! Prayers that you have an easy pregnancy.

I love that picture of Brooklynn and Bella with Minnie.

Yes, that was the 26th. It shows that if you play things right, you can have some crowd-free times during even the most crowded time of the year.

We are excited about having a new one on the books, especially since there are only two for all of 2012. This is not like us at all. :upsidedow

Jill offered the dollar. Brooklynn might have done it for a quarter or two, but now that Jill has upped things, she will never be able to go any lower again.

I would never have dreamed of Brooklynn being a daredevil, but she is when it comes to Disney rides.

Loving the updates... so funny at how short the days are and how dark EMH were, but for those crowds wow!

It was nice to get the uncrowded time while it was available.

Joining in...I'm so excited to be reading another one of your reports! :goodvibes I'm going to have to live vicariously through you guys since the week between Christmas and New Years is one of my favorite times to visit!!! I just love all of the beautiful decorations! :thumbsup2

I would like to go back at Thanksgiving again, becvause we enjoyed that week, too, but we just don't get enough school time off then. It's better to wait until we (Brooklynn and I with school schedules) get to have more time.

I think if Brooklynn is up for it we will go to whatever park is opened the latest on the last night, get everything we can out of it, and just sleep late the next morning. I'm guessing we'll find more to do than we can pack into those two and a half days. It'll be our longest stay yet at 13 days, but I still bet I will leave some things not checked off of my list.

Way to go Bella for doing well with the characters this trip!!

Glad you got to spend some time over here. I know school keeps you busy.

It does seem very strange for Goofy not to have water jets.

OMg proof this flu is affecting my brain. I totally forgot to share. My husband has a little theater/stage fighting group that he runs and they were hired to perform at this swanky (do people still use "swanky") fundraiser here on Sat night. He came home to tell me DeVine was there!! Apparently she and the living statue guys who used to be in Italy ( i think) are owned separately from Disney and their company was hired for this party. I was sooo jealous that he (the disney-hating part of this couple) got that unexpected dose of Disney. He apparently had quite the conversation with them and even he had to admit they were cool.

Work, school and preschool have gotten in the way of my DIS time in the worst way...I didn't anticipate this semester starting out so crazy!

Wow, those early morning EMH are worth it. You would never guess that was the day after Christmas in Disney World!

Glad you have your next trip booked; I am hoping to start planning for next year sometime around my birthday in April. I'm actually ready to now, but I think I should give the rest of my family a little time.
