Yeah it confused me so much when I got the email since I had a stay at WDW last weekend and a stay this weekend at VDH. Took me a minute to figure out what the email was about. That's crazyyy I know for awhile that the FW reservations weren't showing up til like the 9 to 10 month mark for people and you just had to trust that they held your room lol.
well, that is a hot reservation.... that is Super Bowl Sunday when it's playing basically just down the street.Well I forgot to call ahead to cancel I guess. View attachment 1049136
I'd rather have this problem than fret about them not making the reservation once we are within the 11 month window when all owners can book.Yeah it confused me so much when I got the email since I had a stay at WDW last weekend and a stay this weekend at VDH. In the first few years we had our FW, the reservation was being made around the 12-12.5 month mark each time. Then in the last 2 or 3 years, it's been around 10-ish months. Maybe they're getting back on the ball again?Oh wow they booked your fixed week already?
Yep, I saw that and was like oh man this is a good one! VDay, Super Bowl, Presidents Day all in one! And my granddaughters bday. Even though I knew I likely wouldnt ever use my FW I chose this week just in case due to her Bday trips.well, that is a hot reservation.... that is Super Bowl Sunday when it's playing basically just down the street.
That’s such a good booking for next year in particular I’d consider renting it out as a confirmed reservation instead of canceling, if you’re not going to use it yourself!Yep, I saw that and was like oh man this is a good one! I'm pretty sure the answer is "no" just because if you then cancel the reservation, it is a mess with the extra points involved with a FW.Does anyone know if you can book a day in front or end of your FW and then have the reservation merged?

Darn. Thanks. They definitely can not be merged…they have to remain seperate.
I've done this almost every time we've used our FW. You can't merge them, but I have just had MS make a note that they're linked. It's slightly more of a pain dealing with 2 reservations, but we've never had to move rooms. It's even worked to our advantage one time when we had the DDP, because they didn't make us buy it for the second reservation, only the FW reservation (although the DDP isn't worth doing again for us).Does anyone know if you can book a day in front or end of your FW and then have the reservation merged?
Thanks. Was really wanting a merge to be certain it’s all one reservation. I would probably just not book the Saturday before the start of the FW.I've done this almost every time we've used our FW. Even if they can't marge it, there is a 99.5% chance* that you will not have to change rooms. They don't want to clean it any more than you want to move. I have done back-to-back un-mergable stays before, and it was pretty seamless. Note that I did not do dining plan, etc. which might complicate things.

*: Totally made that up.
I didn't actually know that either. Turns out our Aulani Fixed Week (17) is right around then. That would explain why it was one of the net positive weeks, because in 2023 when they priced out the fixed wheeks chart, it was early and missed that week. We're excited for our first favorite week trip this year to Aulani.Well wait.. here to show my ignorance. I guess I dont know when "golden week" is.
