All Aboard Presidents Week Mexican Riviera February 19, 2012 Wonder

Yes, my son was a Mario Kart seat warmer and developed Mario fever by the end of the cruise. I *always* bring the entire medicine cabinet when we go on vacation. Unfortunately, on that trip, I forgot children's Advil. The store was out of it so I had to spend $6 on pediatric Advil which was basically just two doses for my 9 year old. The next day (our last day at sea), I went down to the ship's doctor and bought the children's Advil from them.

Regarding FE, I'm in. We drive to the port which makes it easy. So far, it looks like we have a small group. That might change when the KSF promotion goes public.

Oh, that's right, that darn infant Advil! I had forgotten about that. We had to buy it for my 9 year old too. I won't be forgetting the children's Advil this year!

Looks like we'll be on this cruise. Haven't booked yet, but 90% sure we'll be on it. I received a 25% off code in my email. It's actually cheaper than kids sail free for us.

Well, I booked yesterday with a 25% code. Since we only have 1 child to bring, that code was a bigger savings than kids sail free for us.

Hello! We did this same cruise last Feb and loved it so much that we jumped on the KSF when it came around again. We have a DD (9), DS (7), and DS (4) as well as four other cabins of friends and their kids who have never done a Disney cruise before. (we're spreading the Disney love around!) We participated in the FE last year and would love to do it again this year if we have one. Looking forward to it! :cool1:

Welcome aboard Epcotatnight and Peasprout!:goodvibes

Only 142 more days ( not that I'm counting or anything)

I drove over the Vincent Thomas bridge this morning and was so excited to see the Wonder back in town again. :cheer2:

Can't wait until February!
:jumping1:

That's so cool! I'm jealous! Do you live close by, can you see her every week?:lovestruc

I'm looking at things to do in the area for before and after the cruise and it looks like the Oscars are being held again on the day we get off the ship,so we will want to avoid the Hollywood area. It's funny, I'm trying to find new things to do and my kids want to do the same exact things we did last year!

Yes, we live close (maybe 20 minutes away). Didn't you stay in Torrance last time? I'm trying to remember what you did. I remember pictures of your kids by the pool or playing outside when it was pretty cold here. And were you the family that stopped at In and Out?

We stayed at the Residence Inn not too far from LGB last year, not sure if that was Torrance or not? It was too cool for the pool, unfortunately.

The day before the cruise we spent in LA - typical tourists, site seeing in Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. We also went up to Griffiths Observatory. And yes, we had to try In & Out Burger:thumbsup2

The day we got off the ship we spent in Santa Monica.

And shame on me, I never finished my trip report :headache:

We've cancelled this trip. Hope to do Disney at some point in the future.

Hope everyone has a great cruise.:)

This will be our first cruise. We live in New York and have gone to WDW for a week the past 2 Novembers. This year my oldest is in middle school and doesn't want to miss school, and we were able to take advantage of KSF over our Feb. break week. It works out great for us because my in-laws are in LA, so we get that visit in, too. My boys are 11, 9, and 6. I am very excited for this trip, but a little overwhelmed, too, so I'm looking forward to learning from the rest of you!

Welcome threeboysny. Looking forward to getting to know you. :hippie:

I have a 12 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. Samily also has a son around the same age.

Welcome threeboysny! My kids are also on their winter break, this is the 2nd year we have been able to take advantage of KSF! We have 2 boys, 10 & 7 and 2 girls 14 & 13 sailing.

Deb, thanks for pulling together the list! Can you add my DH & DS10? Thanks so much!

What dinner seating does everyone have? We have late - it was the only one available when we booked.

129 days!!

Fixed! :thumbsup2

We have early dining. We had late dining on our last cruise and felt like we were going to bed stuffed. When we transferred our reservation from Spring Break to Presidents' Week, they transferred our early dining too.

Have any of you used the program where you can have your kids eat first during the second seating, then send the kids to the kids club for the duration of dinner? We have the late seating so that is what we're planning right now, but I'm wondering if anyone has experience and can tell me whether it's just wishful thinking on my part that my kids will happily go and leave DH and me to have a peaceful dinner!

We used it for our son (who was 8 years old) last year. Some nights he chose to go and other nights he didn't. Sometimes he waited for the club staff to arrive at the dining hall but, most of the time, he inhaled his dinner and then left to check into the kids club himself.

One important thing to consider is that, in order to get the meal quickly, the kids need to order from the kids' menu. If they order from the adult menu, it will take extra time for the food to arrive.
