All Aboard Presidents Week Mexican Riviera February 19, 2012 Wonder

What a wonderful week! Thanks for all the wonderful FE gifts!! The best part?.....Didn't get sick until the trip home. Still worth it!

Hello everybody!! Well, I think I got pretty well settled back in yesterday. Still a few odds and ends to put away but overall things are getting back to normal. I just wanted to say thank you so much to everyone for the beautiful fish extender gifts. We loved everything and it was so much fun to find them waiting for us. Your hard work and generosity was definitely well-received and appreciated by our family! I loved getting to know a few of you and am sorry I didn't get to meet more. But I am truly grateful for this thread and the opportunity to make a few friends on this cruise!! I hope that we will all be able to stay in touch and even better, I hope we will be cruising again in the future!! We absolutely loved the Wonder (maybe even more than the Dream)! Next cruise is 398 days away on the Fantasy! Time to get saving up again! And I also booked a dummy date as well to keep our options open in the meantime! Hope you all travelled safely and are well!

Wow! What a fabulous cruise! It certainly is hard going back to our everyday life. Still working on unpacking!

Thank you all so much for the wonderful FE gifts. Initially, I wasn't sure we would participate but I am so, so glad that we did! You were all way too generous and the kids loved finding the goodies. Lots of creative people on our cruise, that's for certain!

I enjoyed meeting so many of you and this cruise was definitely the best one yet. My girls would like to give a shout out to all of the kids that were with them in the Edge. They seriously had the BEST time... really, time of their lives. My youngest still cries whenever she thinks about all of the girls they got to know over the week. Cried buckets the last night and the next day as we were leaving. I'm pretty sure she's trying to come up with a way to plan a reunion cruise!

We hardly saw our girls the entire time. Dinner and shows; that was about it! Nice to spend some time enjoying the quiet cove pool and Route 66 but a little bittersweet because it just means they are growing up. Sigh...

Hope all of you had just as much fun! Wish we could do it over again!

I agree, the girls really hit it off. Monday morning, Lauren woke up and the first thing she did was to text all of the girls and arrange to meet for breakfast at Tritons. :lmao: I wish I had gotten a picture it. I do, however, have video of Lauren, Lauren, Maddie and Sala dancing at the sailaway party. I have a picture of them on the last night at the Edge too. If you and Misako want to message me your e-mail, I can send them to you.

I have a picture from breakfast the last morning of Lauren with Samily's girls. Lauren keeps talking about how Katelyn (sp?) has been on 9 cruises and wants to know if we can do the same. Unfortunately we live on the wrong coast for that. :sad2:

When are you guys cruising again?

My family and I just wanted to thank everyone for making our cruise extra special. Although the MR would be our 5th trip it was our first ever DIS meet and FE participation. Both events made our trip even more special.

One of the parts of a cruise that we always enjoy is meeting new people in the MDR. This time around we enjoyed meeting people in an entirely new way. Between trivia, tastings, and bumping into one another during/after our DIS gathering we immensely enjoyed the camaraderie.

To those we spent time with I hope that our ships meet again, to all others may we have time to spend together in the future.

We DO have picture of girls enjoying breakfast at triton !!!

It has been one week and I'm ready to get back on board. We won't sail this summer so I need to find another relaxing vacation. Any suggestions?:confused3

I really feel bad for you on the other coast but it does save money. Here is how I just dealt with the same feelings. We planned on 2 weeks in WDW this summer but today I just took advantage of new GTY rates and saved $2500 on a E. Caribbean cruise. Now we have 1 week in WDW and then back on DCL.

For your sake, keep your eyes out for GTY or KSF in Alaska. pixiedust:

It's so sad that all 4 ships are east coast....:sad2::sad2::sad2:

I spent all day trying to organize our pictures and movie.:surfweb: At least I made copy and put them in the album to send out to grandparents...

Monterey and Carmel are nice relaxing areas. We love going there to relax. Not too far from SF, the Mystery Spot and the Walt Disney musium...

For this summer, we are planning to go to Disneyland. Sala would love for Lauren to join her for a day or two...

We are debating about Alaska, eastern or western Caribbian... Hoping sometime next year.

How to find GTY rates? call the cruise line or need TA? KSF in Alaska will be great.

You can find them right on the DCL website. If they are offering them they will appear first at a discounted price right above the regular room category prices. From what I understand it is just the Fantasy for spring and summer right now and I have been told a couple of the Dream. Hope they discount Alaska one way or another for you. It was amazing last summer.

I can't believe it's only been a week since we got off the ship - it seems so long ago already! We had a great cruise and hope you all did too! It was fun meeting some of you during the week - thanks to the family who dropped the lime green bracelets at our cabin. I was unpacking and totally missed the meet :( The bracelets were a great idea and we met a few disers during the week because of them!

I've got to say there were a great group of kids onboard and my kids had a blast with everyone they met. The girls were so occupied with the Edge group that we only saw them at dinner on most days! Those wave phones came in handy in keeping track of them!

We enjoyed a nice day in Santa Monica before taking the red eye home Sunday night. Took a day to get adjusted back to east coast time and a few days to unpack. I actually just finished the last of the unpacking today!

Hope everyone had as much fun as we did and had smooth travels home!

Hi Deb!

I am going to PM you my email address - if you could send the pic of the girls at breakfast, that would be great! I'm sure they'd love to see it.

How did Ryan make out this trip? Any Mariocart fever? Christian came down with a fever the Monday night when we were home and had it just about all last week! He says it's from Disney chicken strip withdrawal though, lol. He ate those darn things everyday!

You just made Lauren's day. :yay: Keep us posted as she should have an annual pass by then.

We did Alaska a few years ago on NCL. We didn't like the cruise line but Alaska was beautiful. I wouldn't mind doing it again on Disney but would want to wait until the ship sails out of Vancouver in 2013. Then again, the cruises out of Seattle don't look all that full. If they offer KSF, I might change my mind.

No fever for Ryan this time around. :worship:

He had a good time with Christian while in the Lab on the Cabo days. On the last day, when Lauren was , Ryan asked if we could buy him a cell phone. He said that he wanted to get Christian's phone number so they could stay in touch. :)

Deb,

I'm sending you a PM with my email address. Would love pictures! I've got some of my girls, Lauren and Sala from Sailaway and I believe some video of dancing at the pirate party. Will be sure to send those on to you.

It's been such a busy week, I haven't even looked at my photos. Maybe today's the day!

My apology as it has been a busy week. I will try to send the photos out this weekend.

It looks like the girls are doing a better job at keeping in touch than the adults are. I think Lauren is spending more time texting her Disney Wonder friends than she is texting her Jr High friends. :rotfl:

Just testing to see who else is still subscribed to this thread! Three months ago today, we were finishing our first full day at sea. Didn't know that three months could feel like an eternity! I am still surprised about how much I think of Cabo! This was a great trip!
