Are all 2 bd units at BCv dedicated or are some lockoffs.?If you request a dedicated what is the likelihood that you will get it.? Sorry last question for lock off units does it have a high lock on the door? TIA
Tara

I requested a lock-off for our upcoming trip so I know they do exist. I'm not sure about the lock though.

About 50 units are 2 BR dedicated- 25 of those have 2 queens in the second bedroom the rest have a queen and queen sleeper. You can request dedicated and there is even a separate guaranteed category for 2Q dedicated. I was afraid at New Years that even with booking that specific room, it might not be available on the 12/30 when we checked as many DVC'ers checked in on Sunday the 28th. But sure enough we got it, so it does work.

Just a minor correction. There are 78 dedicateds at BCV and 25 of them have 2 queens in the 2nd bedroom, the other 53 have the 1 queen and a sleeper in the 2nd bedroom. There are 73 (I think) Lock-off 2 bedrooms, all of which have 1 queen and a sleeper sofa in the 2nd bedroom.

Does the 2Q dedicated show as such on your reservation?

Can someone explain again, why that a dedicated 2bdrm would have a sleeper sofa in the 2nd bedroom??? Why, Oh Why??

Believe it was a matter of floor space - not enough to accomodate the second queen bed in all of the rooms.

IIRC, there was an error made originally - the second bedrooms at BCV all had double sleepers (like BWV). When it was pointed out that the BCV sales literature specifically said two queens, corrections had to be made. Some of the rooms couldn't accomodate the second queen (probably due to layout of the space) and so a queen sleeper was used to conform. TerryS kept good track of this issue - perhaps she will see this and add more details or correct me if I have "mis-posted" something. :teeth:

FWIW, IMHO the reason why really doesn't matter all that much. Nothing can be done about it for BCV. It just is and we have to live with it. The best we can hope for is that the same "mistake" will not be made at SSR.

Best wishes -

If I remember correctly, when BCV was built the plans called for all dedicated 2br to have 2 queens, but a mistake was made in the ordring process and all 2br were set up with a queen and sofa sleeper instead, when they went to correct the situation (ie. replace the sofa sleeper with a second queen bed) they discovered that some/most of the 2br weren't large enough to accomodate a second queen (building codes and all)..........so, they put a second queen in the ones they could and had to leave the majority of the dedicated 2br with a queen and sofa sleeper.

*I apologize in advance if this is incorrect, but I'm pretty sure that is what happened.:D

Thanks for the correction Terry- obviously my memory isn't what it used to be! I knew the 25 was right on the 2Q dedicated, just got mixed up on the total dedicated. For some reason I thought half the total dedicated were 2 Q not 1/3..

Thanks for the quick answer. It's so sad that they made that mistake. A lot of backs will pay for someone's oversite. A real bed is so much better than a sleeper sofa!

Agreed.:D That's why when we want a 2br we always book at the 11 month mark (it is a room type, not a request). However, I understand that not everyone has that luxury.

Bella2000... The first 2 confirmations I received said 2 Bedroom Dedicated/2Q and the last 2 that I have received only said 2 Bedroom Dedicated. I have confirmed through E-mail and by phone that all are the 2 queens so they must have changed the confirmations recently.

Thank you for checking. I called as well and MS told me that they separated the 2 bed lockoff from 2 Bed dedicated (in system I assume?) and that I was in as dedicated with 2 queens although my res only says Two Bedroom. Odd.

Same here our most recent confirmation does not note that we have booked the 2 queens.
