Alien Encounter question

I think I must be a bit out of the loop. As I was reading my Disney stock holders report, I saw a picture of (what I think is) Alien Encounter with Stitch in place of the Alien. Have they, or are they, changing Alien Encounter? I also noticed on the park guide that came today that Alien wasn't listed as an attraction in Tomorrowland.

Alien Encounter is closed and will reopen in fall of this year with something to do with Stich ( I can not remember the new name)
While AE is closed the Carousel of Progress is open as well as Timekeeper

Thanks for the info. It looks like this new attraction isn't going to be scary like Alien - too bad!

YEA!! I'm the oddball....I hated AE...it scared me to death!

I always wondered why the little yellow alien that gets teleported in the introduction room never developed a following like Figment.

I think there is a legion of Skippy lovers ( the little fried guy, NOT the peanut butter) here on the DIS.

I could be wrong. I could be the only one with a Skippy action figure and stuffed Skippy.

From what I understand, they are going to work him back in to the storyline. Yeah!!! :Pinkbounc

I will be one of the few though who misses Alien Encounter.
All those screams in the dark...........

AE was so scary! I sat in that attraction with my fingers jammed three knuckles deep in my ears, softly crying, and humming It's a Small World not so softly. Whew! I barely made it off that ride! I couldn't believe all the little kids coming out that had a blast and I was wiping away tears!

AE was the only really SCARY ride in WDW, that I can think of. It filled the bill for some people - but not me!

We are Skippy fans too, lol. AE was scary to us only the first time. After that you know what to expect so it wasnt scary to us after that but we still normally did AE during out trip. We do love Stitch so we are really looking forward to the new attraction.

My son has the stuffed Skippy and he had (way too small now) a Skippy fanny pack. I hope they keep him as part of the attraction.
