The photo on DFTW facebook page for an "Alice" tea party is so cute. The props look really interesting. Does anybody have a price list for the rental fees?
Also, would it be possible to set them up on a patio? There was only one photo and I could not see how they were positioned.

Thanks !

I Do not have the exact figures but they are unbelievably expensive. Like I think over $5000 for what you see in the picture. You could get ONE flower for like $400. Seriously. some can be inside but one of them was too tall, maybe the mushroom one? Also, it's some outside vendor that has them so it took forever just to get info on them. Good luck!

I'm doing a Wonderland wedding and to get the props you must order at least $2000 before they will even begin letting you look at them. Its insane. For a good amount of stuff it's about $6000.

Not to hijack your thread, but this is one of the things that really makes me angry about DFTW and the pics they choose to post. The tea party that is featured is something that very few brides could probably afford to do, yet they spotlight it without mentioning anything about price. It sets you (or at least me) to want things that are out of budget. I wish that they would highlight more "average" weddings that are reasonably priced instead of the extravaganzas that some people are fortunate to be able to have.

Agreed. But of course they aren't the only ones. Like I love "my fair wedding" but the are literally half a million dollar weddings he us doing!they arenot in the realm of possibility for most people. Period!

Now that Disney does have itsown weddings blog, I wish they would be a bit more forthcoming though. They posted a gorgeous mad hatter bridal shower bit if I recall correctly, they brought nearly all of their centerpieces themselves! As we did a similar theme, it's frustrating to find things you think that you, a regular person, could do!!

I will have a few cute ideas to post as soon as soon as I get a couple pics back!

I agree, it would be nice if Disney put some sort of price rating on their photos. I understand not having a specific price because of all the variables, but maybe they could have a range system, like Fodors $-$$ 1000-3000, $$$-$$$$ 4000-6000, etc.

We are going back and forth on reception location. We have a bunch of kids (20-25 under 12) and three dedicated smokers. Originally we thought Living Seas Salon. The really special thing there being scuba mickey.

But now we are thinking maybe the patio rooms at the boardwalk so there is a place for the hyped kids and the smokers to escape. There just needs to be something special about the kids party "area". So DF thought the Alice props would be cool since his daughters really like the new movie version. But there is not room for all of them. maybe two or three? And could they even be put on the patio? I could not see how they were anchored.

just thinkingpopcorn::

We asked our planner the same question regarding the alice in wonderland props and she said that it was $30,000 for the lot. We nearly fell off the chair in shock. You can hire smaller things but again they arnt cheap and will set you back a bit. There was a disbride on here who made all her own and she did a brilliant job. There was load of pics. Sorry cant remember her name but one of the other disbrides on her might know. She made her own tea cups etc.

$30,000? wow! Okay, next option.

Scuba Mickey at $1375 is looking a lot better!

I saw the Mad Hatter Tea party write up. The bride did such a wonderful job putting everything together. It was really pretty.

I did my own Mad Hatter Tea Party and Disney actually just featured it on their blog although they gave me no credit for making the things but that's ok I was happy to see it on there. But in my planning journal I have info on what I did If you want to take a look for some ideas.

more funny is that i, after seeing that entry, made a comment on the blog that your party was beuatiful and , as a person using the same theme, it would be helpful if they would indicate what items were disney and what were DIY/other vendors. my comment NEVER appeared! :eek:

it was a bit frustrating to keep seeing pictures around the interwebs and everything that appealed to me was actually DIY. normally that might be good, but given the logistics of our destination wedding, bringing that much stuff wasn't really an option....
