Alec Baldwin on The View Friday

If I remember correctly, they said that he called and asked to be on the show. He wants to tell his side. I was listening while I got ready for work, so I might be wrong. I'll rewatch it tonight.

That's the way I remember it also. Rosie said they taped it yesterday and it will air on Friday. (The Friday show is usually taped)

I am sure that they will just spend the time bashing Bush..:rolleyes1 . Which I am really sick of the political crap. I have heard it enough times. Yada yada yada:idea: how about a new topic? maybe Rosie and Alex can talk about. what it is like to have a real job and support a family . They have no clue and I am really sick of Hollywood. They have no clue what the real world is up to but they think they should be our voice. ok no flames just want to gripe. I do like Rosie ect and I know I do not know how to spell ok.popcorn::

Rosie was pretty pro Baldwin on Monday, I guess he figures this is the best Platform for him to tell his side of the story, Friendly Ground with Rosie and Joy.

Rosie will back him..he is her friend. She does not condone what he did but she will protect him and would have no dought that she will find a way to get a jab in on the ex, who is also a looser.

I saw her on cnn talking about how she talked to her daughter about what happened and she was sooooo fake that it made me want to throwup!!!

She played this ..I am a great mom and would never talk to my DD like that because I am so perfect and pure...O please:sad2:

so did anyone watch it?

I did.

I know what he said was horrible and there is no defense for it but I do feel badly for him. I almost cried when he talked about spending 2 weeks with her and then being totally cut off from her. :sad1:

It's just so sad all the way around. :sad2:

i watched to and it was sad
i think what he did was wrong but it seems that the mother isnt doing the right thing here either
i didnt know but the news said she is in contempt of court for violating the visitation over 12 times
thats alot
it was on fox news today

I tuned in. He sounded quite sincere and very sad about what he did. I've always suspected there is a ton of stuff we don't know about this case and I am even more convinced now. There are no winners in a divorce gone bad, especially the children.

On a side note, Judge Judy has been talking about father's rights and parent alienation for a long time now. I wonder if she will weigh in on this particular case publicly.

It was a sympathetic interview and he seemed genuinely sorry. However, why in the hell did he have to give that story as an example of how his daughter giggled about the way he wakes her up by rubbing her hair and asking all nice what she wants for breakfast, and when he asked her what was funny about that he imitated how she described her mother coming in and yelling at her to get up?? Was that really necessary to paint her that way in order to make himself look better?? How will it make the daughter feel if she watches her dad relaying that story, whether it's true or not??:sad2:

I taped it, so I'll watch it later tonight :)

For those who saw it, do you think he appearance helped or hurt his daughter? or the situation?

Is he just trying to save his image?

I believe he loves his daughter. I think he needs counseling though. They should all be ordered into some sort of family counseling. I think he is concerned about parent's rights, but I think he looked for a venue to express himself where he felt safe and would receive sympathy. I can't blame him for that and while this may be the attempts of a desperate father reaching out to his child since he's been cut off temporarily by the courts, it was his choice of actions that put him in this predicament.

The whole thing is sad. I really don't understand why people that at one time in their lives loved each other enough to get married and have babies now hate each other enough to use their children as weapons.

I have no real comment since I didn't watch The View. I did listen to the tape though.

Anyway, I have a cousin who divorced a few years ago. She tried EVERYTHING to alienate their 1st daughter from the father. She told her that it was all the Dad's fault they were divorcing (she was cheating on him though), she told her that her Daddy didn't love her because HE left (even though she kicked him out), told everyone that he was abusive (honestly, he was too much of a wuss to be abusive) if anything she would have been the abuser... It worked and the oldest daughter, for a long time, didn't want to be anywhere near the Dad (keep in mind she was only 8 at them time:sad2: ). My cousin messed with that girl's mind so much. I don't keep in touch with her anymore (can you blame me?) so I don't know how the daughter & Dad's relationship is. He never became verbally or physically abusive but sometimes I wonder how he held it all in.

It kinda reminds me of the same situation in a way. Parents more concerned with retaliation than the well being of the child.

I can see if Alec Baldwin has being dealing with something like this that maybe he directed everything through his daughter (does that make sense?). I'm not saying it's right but we all have our breaking points.

Thru it all at least he cared enough to call and to want to see his child. I can't say that's the same in my life.

I wish him well. Even though he blew up like an idiot we all do sometimes. I don't condone the "name calling" but it was so obvious he was passionate about wanting to speak to his child. Unfortunately it IS a sign of affection of sorts. The opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference... something he could never be accused of.

He's an ACTOR.

You know, one of those people trained to make you believe what they're trying to sell. He's now playing the part of the poor misunderstood father. Poor him.

He's an actor who is desperately trying to save his image. Nothing more. Nothing less.

I have no respect for him. Nor do I feel one iota of sympathy for him. He disgusts me.

To me he sounded like a bitter man who came there to mainly bash "the other party", as he put it. He also called his daughter "the child" a few times instead of "my daughter". Seemed cold to me. I also couldn't believe how he told the story about how he wakes his daughter up compared to how her mom does.
I feel bad for their child that this is being played out publicly, no one is going to be a winner in this.

For once I didnt watch The Price is Right!:guilty:

Since the tape leak & Today I thought Alec Baldwin was a pig. NO EXCUSE whatsoever for talking to his daughter that way!
Now that I heard his side of the story...I think he is a BIGGER PIG than I could of imagined.

1) He cant talk about specifics of his divorce/child custody...BUT HE SURE COULD SAY EVERY HORRIBLE THING that his ex wife did WITH NO PROBLEM!
(i am glad Barbara Walter interviened with "There are 2 sides to every story)
Did anyone catch that he is freindly with his MIL...but had a rocky relationship with his own Mom comment!:rolleyes1

2) His reasoning why the tape got out...Is because ALL TABLOID journalist are victims of child abuse and they had taken their fustration out on him! WTH?:confused3

3) he explained how is daughter laughs when he wakes her up stroking her hair! Little weird to me...And how is ex wife screams &yells at her to get the hell up outta bed!

4) He asked NBC to get out of his contract...because he wants to save the jobs of 400 people! What a load! He wants out cause he has a book coming out in September and wants to do other things!

5) This phone message was THE ONE AND ONLY TIME HE EVER TALKED LIKE THAT TO HIS DAUGHTER! :headache:

He kept on interupting Barbara Walters questions!

I watched & I thought it was creepy. I think his ex wife is creepy. I think they are both CRAZY. God help this poor child

I also think NORMAL people do & say things they wished they had'nt under stress.

Now the key here is for them to LOVE this CHILD more than the HATE each other they are not doing this & until they do they are CREEPY.

I saw the show. I felt for Alec, especially when he said he regretted using those specific words to his daughter, essentially lashing out in frustration at the wrong target. I don't think he was acting, he stammered around for his words too much to have been working off some kind of script.

I am not defending him or his choice of words but I am not ready to throw him to lions over this just yet.

I hope his daughter forgives him and they can move forward into maintaining a healthy relationship. Other than that, I don't see how this is really any of my business. He did have a fews point about parental alienation and I am glad he feels strongly enough to take it up as a personal cause.

He pretty much "cautiously" had me...I wasn't willing to give in completely to his side of the story...until the part about how he wakes his daughter up vs how his ex wife does. BAD! It was something (supposedly) said in private between his DD and him for one thing, and how's his wife going to react, and how much more grief will this kids suffer?

The thing about the tabloid journalists all being emotionally unstable screwed up nuts just blew me away. The tabloids will probably be suing the "star" now, instead of vice versa.

And I found him irritating the way he constantly interrupted Barbara Walters. I think they adjusted ad time for him! They did have at least one commercial break, but he spoke for something like 1/2 hour!

I do understand blowing one's stack and losing it and saying things you later regret...but he had time to think about what he was going to say, and he really should have been very careful about blaming others and saying things that are, once again, hurtful to their daughter.

I tell ya...DH and I would make a great divorced couple. We're so reasonable. :)

Thats harsh. Do you know him personally?
