Alcohol at Chuck E Cheese yes or no - What do you think??

Thanks everyone for your honest responses. I just wanted to get opinions. My reason for asking, or really my concern is that the difference with CEC is there are kids running all over the place, as opposed to a restaurant where for the most part, people are seated at tables. As I mentioned in my post, I saw a woman walking around the area where the kids play games with a cup in her hand. I was hoping that a child didn't run into her, causing her to spill the drink on any small children. If adults are going to drink alcohol, they should remain at the tables and not walk around the children. Just my 2 cents...

But couldn't this happen with a soda, too?? :confused3

I would hope if the adult was driving they would not drink or only have one. I don't think it's CEC's responsiblilit to be moral police. Adult's do have a right to drink, it is up to them to be responsible and follow the laws.

My hubby and I don't drink - I've never had a drink of alcohol in my life as I think it's a totally useless activity. Having it at Chuck E Cheese or Disney World for that matter just justifies people's obsessions and addictions to alcohol - why do people need to drink at these types of places? I don't know why people need to drink period, but that's another discussion! I know people drink for a multitude of reasons, but honestly, I don't think it's necessary at these types of places at all. It just feeds the addictive society that we live in as little kids become accustomed to seeing adults drink at all times and it then it becomes acceptable.

Not trying to offend anyone, but I have very strong beliefs about alcohol, cigarettes, drugs and coffee - they are all illegal drugs that kids grow up thinking are acceptable because they are allowed at kid centred restaurants, theme parks, etc. I'm speaking as a high school teacher of at risk teens who started consuming these substances at very young ages because they watched their parents doing it. Sorry, but I subscribe to the theory that adults need to be good role models at all times, and so not being able to get by for an hour at Chuck E Cheese without having a drink is not a good role model in my book!

It's the only way I would ever set foot in there...

drunk adults shouldn't be playing skeeball at a children's establishment. :teeth:

For a facility marketed for children's birthday parties and festivities--it is inappropriate.

For those that mentioned Disney

Magic Kingdom specifically is alchohol free.

Zoos are alcohol free.

Let's be real.

What next--a beer case in Toys R Us?

I hate to break this news to you, but your strong beliefs don't make ANY of these illegal. Drugs may be used illegally, but that does not make all of them ILLEGAL, Alchol, cigertees and coffee are legal... And coffee doesn't even have a minimum age..

Now, just to upset your 'apple cart' my parents drank, smoked and drank coffee (GASP) I was 25 before I drank my first beer, I have never smoked and I hate coffee... Guess being around that "horrid influence" was really bad for me.

And which kid at my high school was KNOWN as being the wildest partier... you got it the Baptist Preacher's kid....

None of these are illegal.

There are ages where it is illegal to purhcase--but the items themselves are not illegal.

Especially coffee. :confused3

When did alcohol, cigarettes and coffee become illegal? :confused3

Coffee is illegal? Since when?

Quick - Get the coffee police to shut down the Star Bucks Cartel. :smokin:

You know--that might be just the special to go get me to wait in that heinous Black Friday line. :lmao:

It certainly would pass the time.

So let me rethink my earlier statement on no alcohol in businesses heavily marketed to children. :rotfl2:

I think if I were going to go to a Chuck E Cheese I would need alcohol.

(Don't get your undies in a bunch. I don't have children, and I don't drive when I've been drinking. But if my brother wanted to drive me over there with his kids...sure.)

I think if some wine gets spilled on a kid, the kid won't melt.

Illegal? :confused3

Don't think that because you don't drink that you are a wonderful role model for your kids, assuming that you have them or ever plan to. My parents were teetotalers and 3 out of the 5 of us kids drank as teens and only 1 out of the 5 of us never drank. The jury is out with my kids since they are too young for me to know, but them seeing my DH and me drink occasionally and responsibly will hopefully teach them that. So far, so good. As far as I could tell, my DD did not drink in HS (and I sure watched out for all the signs) and I sure believe that my 10th grade son had never experimented with drinking. Not out of the woods yet (I have 2 younger kids), but we have a much more open relationship, also.

Obviously I don't think that parents should drink just to show kids responsible drinking, but just because parents drink does not mean that they are not good role models. Frankly, I find your attitude insulting.

Maybe beer only... But nothing eles this is a Kids place to eat... Not a bar!!!

And what about Sea World? The Clydesdales are not the only Budweisers around :rotfl:

And now to really :stir:

UNIVERSAL sells alcohol at stands every few feet!

Well as far as Busch Gardens and Sea World--well yes--if a beer company opened a theme park...I'm not sure what the alcohol versus ratio of adults to minors etiquette is.

Universal--Just doesn't scream It's a Small World (though that ride would make a GREAT drinking game). (and is marketed to an older audience)

So, what are the rules - everytime you hear the world "small", take a drink?

Ok...that was a joke.... nobody go and get all "bunched" up! :lmao:

Papa, you took the words out of my mouth. :rotfl:

I'd need to be in a state of complete painlessness to go there. :smokin:

Pssssttt... Don't tell but I sometimes have an alcoholic beverage at WDW. As a matter of fact, I can everywhere but MK as far as I know. It's scandalous!!!
