Alcohol at Chuck E Cheese yes or no - What do you think??

Not trying to be argumentative, but what's the difference between spilled beer and spilled Coke? It is sticky liquid that would be no fun to have all over you, but beer is no more dangerous to you skin and hair (in fact, it's not bad ....), and in fact I'm sure Coke would stain worse. It's not like having beer spilled on you will make you drunk!!! :rotfl:

What's your specific concern about the spilled beer?
That and you could just as easily spill a drink while sitting.

This is a kid-focused facility, pure and simple. If a parent can't spend a couple of hours there without a drink, then there is a problem.

Oh get real! As the daughter of two roaring alcoholics and the veteran of many Al-Anon meetings I can assure you that there is a HUGE HUGE HUGE difference between not being able to spend a couple of hours without a drink
and wanting to have a beer with your pizza while your kid plays video games. I really doubt that the local lushes are heading over to the Chuck E Cheese pizza parlor to catch the nightly buzz.

There is nothing at all inherently evil about alcohol. There is no reason that the moderate and responsible consumption of alcohol needs to be hidden and kept away from children.

There is a group of moms that a few times a year head to CEC with the kids. While there, we like to have a drink or two while we eat and catch up. The kids have a great time, its enjoyable for us, and we've never had any problems. And if CEC didn't also cater to something the adults would like to have while there, we could just as easily go to somewhere that does. Bottom line is, we are adults so let us make our decisions.

Maybe they sell it b/c beer and pizza go well together? I have been to CEC quite a few times and I have never seen anyone falling down drunk. Of course here in New Orleans we are really lax about alcohol...you can drink it outside on public property most places here...so CEC isn't all that odd!

I see nothing wrong with having a drink or two while the kids play. In our area, we don't even have a CEC but do have other play places that have huge bars. I never see anyone getting loaded but just unwinding with other parents while the kids have fun.

A nasty whine and Chuckee Cheese go hand and hand.

I think it's more of a crime that they still serve their pasty pizza! :rotfl:

But you are right, I do find that a little strange, especially at a place geared towards kids. Although if you are of age and wish to enjoy that type of drink, there shouldn't be anything stopping you.

Beer is gross. Now, if they started serving Whiskey Sours, I might step foot back in that place...you really do need alcohol to survive. CEC's is the absolute worst.

I think it is a little wierd that they serve beer, but it brings in extra money.

I don't see a problem with people being responsible drinkers, but you can't guarantee everyone will be responsible, but can almost guarantee everyone has a kid with them so I wish they didn't have the alcohol just in case that one parent was a complete idiot.

I know that beer or wine would be the only thing that would make Chucky Cheese tolerable for me.

They serve beer in McDonald's here. It seems odd to see people drinking in a location where it is not the norm in America.

Over here you also get beer at McDonald's and Burger King.

CEC may be geared toward children but it depends on adults. Adults = money. Besides that, I see absolutely nothing wrong with an establishment legally selling alcohol.

I try to stay out of CEC (my 6yo hasn't been many times), but I have 3 other children, 12-18 and have been more than my share of times and haven't once seen an obviously drunk person. I don't drink often and have only had a beer there on several occasions, but if someone wants to have a beer or 2, I don't really much care.

Anything that makes that place tolerable! :teeth:

But then again, I don't care that other kids have TVs in their bedrooms even though mine never will. :rotfl2:

As a former cast member of CEC (yes they call employees cast members too) and manager wine and Beer have been served for at least the past 15 years at CEC. We carded everyone we needed to and people could purchase beer 1 at a time per person/ID Considering all of the things that go on there alcohol is the least of the problems!- and yes we did cut people off or call the police numerous times if they were getting out of control.

Only way you'd get me in that place ;) :rotfl:

If Disney can do it....why not Chuck E Cheese? Wait a minute......

OMG does anyone else see the connection??
It's all the rodent's fault.....Mickey and Chuck E. are lushes so they bring alcohol into their place of business and make us share it with them! :woohoo:

Just kidding!! :teeth:

I think it is terrible - all those kids with cell phones that may have to use them to call their drunk parents a taxi. :teeth:
