Alaska on July 19th, 2011 "Where a good tan is hard to find"

Robin/Tisza,

In chat a couple weeks ago you had talked about wanting to do a second meet later in the week....is that still in the works?

Hi!

I am still up for that but wouldn't know where to set it. Besides, I thought I appointed you as the "Fearless Leader":lmao: Soooooooo... where and when are we trying to meet up? Perhaps sometime Wednesday? What say you?

Let me (and everyone else) know when a decision has been made.

TTFN,

Tisza

Oh my the packing is totally consuming me! I was hoping to get away with one suitcase, but I'm totally bringing two.

Is anyone here planning to dress up for dinners? We are bringing dresses for the dinners so hopefully we won't stick out like sore thumbs:p

We are outta here in just 5 days for our pre-cruise stay in Vancouver:cheer2::cheer2:

Hi Everyone!

We leave exactly one week from today and I have done NO PACKING AT ALL... Yikes! FE stuff is done, though!

I'm sure the 3 of us will pack in 6 suit cases as we are allowed to check 2 each for free because of my AA status. The trick will be not to PACK them so that we have room to bring home goodies:banana::banana:

Can't wait to meet everyone at our cruise meet!

I have 2 dresses for formal night and for Palo, which we are going to on semi-formal night. Other than that I have a black skirt and a pair of black dress slacks, so I can match pretty much any top I bring with either one. I'm bringing only one, well maybe two, pairs of dress shoes that will go with everything.

We are also leaving in 5 days. Guess it's time to drag out the suitcases!

So far I have 2 suit cases weighing 50 lbs each and a 30 lb one holding all the shoes....one carry on with all the FEs and another carry on with all the under ware :lmao: must have underware. :rotfl2:

Will have another carry on...or may just go and get another large one and take the stuff out of the 30 lb one and make it another 50 lbs...ugh...so many clothes...jeans sure way an awe full lot.

It's like we are traveling for 2different vacations....older clothing for Canada ..newer clothing for cruise...warm clothing ...cold clothing...rain and shine clothing....dress clothing....casual clothing for diner....
So much easier when going to the Caribbean...shorts and bathing suits when going there.

When I was packing I felt like I was taking to many clothes and always do...

As for formal night I did not pack formal...no room so just have black dress pants for all , dress shirts dress shows and ties if they want...me dress shirt...

I can't believe all I have packed.... ...I also only packed 2pair of Jeans for older son and me but 5 for other son...he is a very picky dresser.

Nice to see that I'm not the only one taking slot of stuff.

We leave on Wed....still have to finish my magnets...ugh

No way!! I volunteered to organize the first meet....not the second. Nice try.

Can't blame a girl for trying, right?:lmao: Since this is only my second cruise ever and my first time on this ship, I am not the one to put in charge but I make a really good cheerleader for the one who is :). Let me know what is decided and where to be and I will be there!

As for packing... We have a medium rolling bag filled to the brim with FE stuff, a large rolling bag with most everything else, a garment bag for our formal wear (yes, we are both dressing for dinner... DH in his wedding suit and me in my gown or velvet pant suit), another rolling bag for the shoes and the DH's undies. I suggested that in the interest of minimizing packing space he go commando for the week but that idea was not greeted with the enthusiasm I had hoped for :rotfl2:

I also have my rolling camera bag as does the DH plus I have sail away gifts for everyone in my group which they will get at the cruise dock. So, when you see the girl loaded like a pack mule be sure to say "Hi"!

We are also bringing some heavier coats as I expect to spend a considerable out on deck with my camera cemented to my eye especially on Tracy Arm day.

I am going to a camera club meeting tomorrow in hopes of getting some additional pointers.

We are leaving on Thursday as soon as the DH gets home from work. I will have the luggage sitting by the door starting tomorrow, and I will probably be sitting right next to it, but I'm not stupidly excited or anything like that...

Take care all, help lots of people and have a "Wonder"ful day!

I completely agree with this. Its very odd packing warm clothes on a day when the heat index is supposed to get to 105. I've done the reverse of this in the winter, but I never remember packing for colder weather.

As far as formal night goes, I'm packing a dress shirt, tie and nice pants. That's it. I have too much stuff to try to bring a jacket. I'm still hoping to get it all in one 50 lb suitcase...especially since I'm flying Continental instead of my usual Southwest, which means each bag is gonna cost $25 each way (and I think a second bag might be $35).

On a completely different subject, we were watching the Home Run Derby last night and my son was saying how he'd love to see Captain America, which comes out the Friday we're on the cruise. I pretty much told him it would have to wait until we got back. However, it is a Marvel film, which means Disney. I know they sometimes show films that are in the theaters (if you check the last set of Navigators from the Wonder, you can see 'Cars 2' is shown several times), but would they ever show one the same weekend it comes out? My guess is no. But one can always hope...

You are so in the same boat as me...though we leave in 5 days...I so need to get working tonight. I am hoping to get into 3 suitcases checked. We will see.

Yes. They will show movies the weekend they come out, in fact they wil have PremEARS at Sea and show them at Midnight Thursday night. That said, I'm not sure about Captain America. Disney owns the character, but I think this is one of the movies that was in production before Disney purchased Marvel and it's being distributed by Paramount. :confused3

Hope we get to see the Pooh movie! :thumbsup2

Any thoughts on shorts? I was going to pack one pair might might just skip shorts all together. I'm sure my boys will bring shorts, and probably DH too, but I think I can easily get by without them. Think I'll regret not having a pair?

You're right; I do remember seeing Paramount on the ad last night, as well as Marvel. Too bad...it would have been fun going to a midnight show of Captain America!

...and I should add: we're leaving Friday, and of course my daughter is going to a midnight show of Harry Potter on Thursday at midnight. Let's just hope she's finished packing by then...

Most people say that it is cold in the morning but later on it warms up FAST!!!

We are all bringing options. I was told the weather can change quickly. I think we need a bigger dining room table. Everything I need to pack is laid out. Oh my goodness!;)
