Anyone think they might be effected by incoming Hurricane Irene for travel to Vancouver?

Best to all!

All,
With school starting and new programs getting out of the starting gates and the wife having to do all that new instructor HR stuff it has been busy around the household. We are looking so forward to this trip. FE is almost finished. FE gifts in place. Magnets done and laminated except two late arrivals.
Packing is slowly taking shape. I actually found some decent overshoes. Looks like we are getting ready. We leave on Monday from Louisville on SW.
Paula will you be leaving on Monday? We depart at 7:05 or there abouts. I looked at the long range forecast as well. The truth is nothing will rain on my parade not even the rain.:banana::banana:

Well Hello Everyone! I leave this week FRIDAY!

I did try to get my packing and FE done this weekend but no such luck with the Relay for Life on Saturday/Sunday. Darn:headache:

But I did all my magnets and sorted my FE but am still short so will be heading out to pick up the rest of the supplies to finish them. i still need to do my DIS and pirates t-shirts and then I should be about done.

I am planning to do laundry on board and so have narrowed it down to 3 pairs of jeans (BK, BL, WH) and 1 black capri for dinners. I have one workout shirt and pants and one "at sea" pants (decided no shorts). I have about 5-6 t-shirts. I decided on mostly short sleeve since I will be wearing my silky long underwear;) I am taking my brown fleece and my green sports jacket for cold weather. I figure if it worked at WDW last year when they had a record cold december, then it should be fine for AK. I am also using the WDW rain poncho.

So we leave on THIS Friday night :cool1: and arrive in YVR on Saturday morning. We are taking a taxi to the Hotel and can hopefully get into a room since it will be 6am:eek:. We plan to have breakfast and just hang out near the hotel. Then in the afternoon we are gonna work our way to the ferry and head over to North Vancouver - Lonsdale Quay.

I am definitely hoping to get on the computer at least each day but am not sure I am the best person to tell you about the weather ~ temperature wise. I will let you all know if it is raining, overcast or whatever. Last time we went to Alaska we left from San Francisco which was colder than Alaska! The only place I really froze was Tracy Arm (altho we didn't actually go in there went to another but I don't remember the name as Tracy was socked in).

I am very excited to be returning to Alaska and even more so on my second Disney Cruise!:cheer2:

Before I forget since I know that even tho I will still be checking our board, I want to be sure I do this....I want to thank everyone here for all the wonderful help and suggestions and fun in planning this trip together:love:. I really appreciated the generosity you all have for sharing your information and tips:wizard:. It has made the planning just as much fun as the I know the cruise will be. So a big MAHALO from me:grouphug:.

Well it is rainy and cloudy in Ketchikan this morning. There are already 3 ships in port, the Disney Wonder will be there in a couple of hours! That's us in a couple of weeks. I am hoping the weather clears up

http://http://webcamketchikan.com/

It was rainy last week Monday too! I sure hope it is only that way in Ketchikan for us. I would really like some nice weather for Skagway and Juneau....

Just checked the 10 day forecast on weather channel.com

skagway, juneau and ketchikan are showing showers and mid 50 to 60s temps :sad2:

I am hoping by the time we get there we get better weather....so that it is clear.

At least vancouver will be nice and sunny while I am there - partly cloudy on the day we board....

All,
I looked at the long range forecast as well. The truth is nothing will rain on my parade not even the rain.:banana::banana:

Me too ! :yay: Only bad weather would be sleet and 40 mph winds at 25 below F. :scared1: Wait that is what happens here, We are going to have great Alaska weather no matter what it is.

I am soooo in need of the this trip, but I am soooo not ready yet.

Oh, just to complicate matters a bit, we are going to Disneyland on Wednesday. What is a girl to do? I guess I will just have to muddle through.

Happy packing, Everyone!!!

Can't wait to find out how the update is going at DL, we postponed our 2011 trip to 2012 when most everything should be done. Really want to hear about the laser fountain show.

Lucky duck! We're hoping to visit Disneyland late summer or fall 2012 - after CarsLand opens. Not sure if we'll get any more Disney trips in between now and then - potential job issues are rearing their ugly heads :(

We were in a 2 bedromm at GCV in January--we saw World of Coler every night from our balcony twice. It is a wonderful show. We are planning on another visit in 2013

It's what make the cruisemeets section of the Dis, the BEST part of the DIs :goodvibes

We are leaving Sunday, arriving in Seattle around 1:30 pm. I hate that our dinner plans didn't end up coming together, it's that little thing called 'LIFE" that gets in the way of the every day.

Paula is the FE list the most updated list?

YES!!! it is. I will bring some spares and have them at our 3:15 Promenade meet.

Anyone think they might be effected by incoming Hurricane Irene for travel to Vancouver? Best to all! Marni

I sure hope not

I have a few name tags to finish making this evening. I am going to bring some blank ones also that people can write their names on if they'd like.

? I gave Janet one of my CC bags to use while on the cruise because I knew there would only be one in the room that her & Doris are sharing. It is Janet's 1st cruise, will she get a lanyard since Doris is a CC member or do I need to bring her one of mine? I was thinking it goes by staterooms and not each individual person..........................

I am getting so excited:cool1::cool1::cool1: I have quite a bit to do with work before Friday so that will keep me busy---extra heavy shopping for them so my son doesn't have to add that to his list of stuff to do while we are gone.

I'm not even going to think about rainy weather---I have clothes for it, but really hoping I don't have to use them or all of them at the same time--that's one thing no one can control:flower3:

We have someone moving into one of our rentals 9/1 and there was a leak in the basement Alan has been working on for 2 months. He FINALLY solved the problem--so he has been getting the new drywall up. I need to go to Lowes and order carpet for it now. Hopefully they can install it next week for the tenants. But I am going to let them work the install out with them. (They are actually Doris's (my MIL) niece and her husband) They are super excited about it, married this summer and have been cramped into her 1 bedroom apartment since.

Hope everyone has a great day and lots of fun in this last week getting all sorted for the cruise. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone:goodvibes

The status of the stateroom for booking stuff is based on the highest CC member in the room...but on the Baltic cruise they accidentally gave me (silver at the time) my friend's gold lanyard and immediately demanded it back as I was supposed to have a silver one.

So I am guessing that you need to bring a lanyard for your friend whose first cruise it is.

Thanks, I'll throw one in the suitcase :)

We'll be dining atop the Space Needle Sunday night. Any chance you'll be in the area?

Just looked at my watch! About right now one week from now we will be boarding the Disney Wonder!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

How fun PJ ! No we are getting on the shuttle soon after we arrive and heading into vancouver. That sounds like a really nice dinner :)
