ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Thanks PJ, I'll try to listen tonight. Hopefully your flights are fine tomorrow. See you soon and safe travels :)

Still sending out prayers to all on the East Coast regarding Hurricane Irene. Godspeed to us all as we begin our travel to the Northwest. May God protect the homes and families of those who will heading this way from the East Coast.

HI everyone, I am in need of lots of luck and pixie dust! this hurricane needs to move east about 200 miles otherwise she will be going right over my house.
We leave on Monday morning and that is when the big wind will be here Sunday into Monday :sad2: still hoping Irene turns east. Anyone ever have flight problems before?

Our Mediterranean Cruise was right in the middle of the Volcano eruptions in Iceland last year, we ended up moving flights around but got out through Atlanta. We watched and fretted for over a week as flight after flight was canceled, in the end all but 4 of our DISers made it, others joined us at Tunisia.

Here's wishing you all the luck and also a safe hurricane :wizard:

Well that's it, last big day at work, just have a prehearing on conference call in the morning :cloud9: Then off the St Benedict to drop off DD for her 3rd year. Home to finish packing on Monday and airport early early early Tuesday :cool1: before the Pres flies in.

Safe travels to everyone starting to head for the ship, look forward to meeting all of you there. :wave2:

From Dyea Daves

Paula,
So our weather has been variable lately, but you can probably expect some rain and cooler weather. Sun is nice, but hardly something to count on this time of year! Dress warmly, in layers, good shoes and a light rain jacket and you should be comfortable. Let us know if you have any more questions and we will see you soon!

Becky

I should be asleep, and here I am wide awake.:rolleyes1 Raccoon on the deck is giving the kitty fits she is scrambling from window to window--it is really funny to watch her.

Mike good luck getting your DD sorted at school.

Carol hopefully no power outages for you. I am going with the assumption if I didn't pack it or buy it yet and I need it I'll just buy in port.

I am turning this computer off and I hope sleep comes soon. I need to be up in 5 hours..........:sad2:

leaving for Vancouver tomorrow ahead of Irene. The airline isn't changing flights in DC tomorrow. They are only changing them for the 28th and 29th.

Bring rain gear...showers are expected in all three ports according to weather.com. But Vancouver should be nice!

Safe travels to you! Continental's website has penalty-free changes from Newark starting today through 8/30. We thought that we'd try and get out tomorrow ahead of the high winds, but the website refers you to the 800 number, and the 800 number states call volume is too high for them to take any calls and disconnects. We decided to just hang tight until Monday and use Sunday as our packing day.

I am trying to get the laundry done today and tomorrow. My DH said he'd do it on Sunday, but I reminded him that if we lose power we won't be able to do any wash.

I was successful in my mission to get waterproof boots, but I haven't gotten the camping lanterns yet. Will do that today.

Safe travels to those of you on the east coast - and pixie dust that everything/everyone at home will be safe and sound as well.

We'll be on our way today after work -staying the night in Indianapolis - since we have a 6:30a flight & it's a good hour+ drive from our house to the airport. We stay at a LaQuinta that offers a Stay Park & Fly rate that is about the same price as parking would be for the time we're gone. Plus we can sleep in a bit more and they offer a decent complimentary breakfast - Scott enjoys the DIY waffles!

We figure the plane out of Indy on Sat will already be there the night before - a bit more worried about the plane out of Chicago (our layover) - depending on where the flight originates.

Today: 8/26: Canada Air tonight - 8p Hawaii Time
Tomorrow: 8/27 Vancouver - 5a BC Time

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Safe travels to everyone!!!:grouphug:
