So we'll plan a Northen Light deck party, Ketchikan would be the easiest night because it is a sea day the next day. But would Skagway be better since we would be the most north?

How wide and long should a 2 person FE be? I need a reply fast so I can get this thing done today. Thanks all

Will we really be able to see the Northern lights?

So, DD starts K on Wednesday. I think I'm more nervous that she is about it. ;)

You cant plan to see the northern lights. They don't happen all the time you just have to be out side late at night and hope they are out there that night. If you want to see them you might have to check every night and if you are lucky they might be out one of the nights of our cruise.

:rotfl::rotfl:I know they won't show up just because we're bundled up and waiting. I'm a night owl at home, but I'll never make an early excursion if I try to stay up every night.
Will we really be able to see the Northern lights?

Hope so!!

I can still remember taking Adam to school for his 1st day---I was more nervous than he was. Hope Aspen has a great 1st day:)

Are you a seamstress too? Probably no more than 9 inches wide give or take and I have 1 that is about 4 feet long and another that is about 2 feet long.:)

Great News about your Docs!:thumbsup2

Yup that is my plan for the weekend too - get that FE listing together to make sure I accounted for everyone;)

Orrrr you can just do like me and buy one:rotfl::rotfl:

I am no seamstress and it is gonna be plain - not even sure I am gonna do the names on them that way if M&D don't go on another DCL:sad2: then I can add my sister or whomever I am traveling with.

I also went crazy and got one that has 4 pouches:rotfl: this way if all four of us ever go on a DCL we will all be covered!:rotfl:

PJ is right, if we were lucky enough to be on deck, would we really be able to see them?

Is it like a stream of color across the sky? I would hope that if they did happen I would know what I am looking at.

Here's hoping for some pixiedust:

So I believe I am pretty much finished with all of my trip planning. I want to thank you all here for the tremendous suggestions and help you have given.:thumbsup2

We arrive in Vancouver on the 27th :) and are taking a taxi to the hotel. After checking in we are gonna do Lonsdale Quay (north Vancouver). On the 28th we are doing the Vancouver Aquarium, Stanley Park and Chinatown (they have a Night Market there on certain nights). On the 29th we are doing Granville Island and Ferry Creek. Since there is no casino on the ship, we found one at one of the ferry stops and will be surprising my Dad. We are doing Gas Town that night.

After the cruise :sad1: when we return to Vancouver we will head up to Grouse Mountain (thanks Tracey!) and then the next day will close our trip with a Hop on Hop off (thanks Paula!) (and any last minute things we want to do).

Sounds jam-packed when I write it out but a lot will depend on my parents. I have other stuff lined up in case they want to return to the hotel (like Robson St., the Lookout).

Piikea, sounds like a lot of fun. I really wish we would have been able to head for Vancouver sooner or been able to extend our trip, but it just wasn't in the cards for this one. It really seems that there is quite a bit to see in that neck of the woods and I am really happy that DCL is sailing from there this year:goodvibes

And I have learned so much from the Disboards, I enjoy all the sharing that goes on:banana:

Not a seamstress. I found some mending material.
