ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

In Ketchikan my docs say we will be getting in at 1:40p - I was kinda hoping it would have been closer to 1p.

Marni & Piikea, it went well. I still have some swelling today and a little soreness. But I did manage to not walk around in public all day with my sunglasses:cool1: I either go back in 2 weeks (if I am pain free) or 3 for a touch up. I am keeping my fingers crossed it is 2 weeks:)

I have heard that the Wonder is trying to get into Ketchikan around noonish. Our cruise was the latest scheduled at 1:40. So hopefully it works out that we get there earlier:cool1:

Last night DD out of the blue told me she is exceited to go on the old Mickey's Boat because she likes to play in the kid's club better than the new one (Dream). She said she missed the pirate ship with the climbing things and the slide. Go figure? :confused3

Hawaii is on my agenda for 2013-----but the Magic doing some longer southern cruises would HAVE to be squeezed in! Booking 2 dummy cruises on board just in case. June 16th/23rd we are doing btb on the Fantasy--now some of my friends would like to add the 16th now but the prices are too high:scared1:

We booked the Fantasy Nov 2nd 2009 and that schedule was released a couple weeks after the rest of the fleet. So sometime October maybe we'll know something:rolleyes1

Did Hawaii on NCL, loved the cruise hated the ship and the attitude of the crew, never do NCL again. :sad2: Also used to travel to Hawaii for business a couple times a year, time to visit other places. :car:

We have a Fantasy booking for the Eastern Caribbean in Dec 2012 :woohoo: wil have to move the date since it looks like mid terms week for DD. Pricing has gone up considerable even since we booked early this year so hoping my price will transfer to same accomidation first part of Jan 2013. :scratchin

PJ, that put a :)on my face.

Mike, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that opening prices are reasonable and you are able to transfer for about the same cost.

We have only done 1 RCCL, I enjoyed the change up in ports and we were able to stay in a suite (which was really nice!) It was on the Granduer--I peeked in an inside room as we were leaving the ship and boy was it tiny! The crew all were really nice. So all in all we really enjoyed the cruise. One of my friends did the NCL Pearl from Seattle to Alaska and she had only lots of good things to say.

The National Street Rod Association begins today. It is a lot of fun seeing those old cars on our roads. They will keep us really busy until Sunday evening. I've never gone to the fairgrounds to see them all--just the views we get while driving and the ones that stop at the station for gas and supplies. It's going to be HOT HOT HOT for them.

Hope everyone has a great day:goodvibes

My TA says there was a problem at their local post office and a bag of mail got messed up in the shuffle. The went out Wednesday

At least you know they are on the way Rick:cool1::cool1:

Anyone know if they are playing movies on the Funnel Vision screen at night ? Wouldn't want to miss relaxing up on deck enjoying a BBQ pizza and catching a flick. :3dglasses

How about viewing the Northern Lights ? Think they may turn off the lights on deck so we can star gaze one night ? :smickey:

Adding my cheers :cheer2: to getting those docs!:thumbsup2

Do you even think we would be able to see them since it is August? Last trip was in August and we didn't get to:sad2: so I would be so happy if we could this trip!:yay:

I have my fingers crossed about the Northern lights---that would be very cool. At one time i was reading about them--they would be visible what about 2am, if I remember right?

It is very possible to see them the early part of September, the times I have seen them from here have been in October and November.

yes they are visible about that time of night. It also usually is a cold night when you see them. We see them more in winter/fall then in the summer.

Coldest night--deck party on 9----anyone got a portable heater:goodvibes

Well I am willing to wrap up and to get up at 2am :wizard:
just to see the Lights!:3dglasses

It would be very exciting for me and probably the icing on the cruise! How wonderfuly cool. I am gonna put in a word with the man upstairs and add that to my wish list....hope someone is listening!:littleangel:
