ALASKA - August 30th, 2011 - Mickeys Mooseketeers & the last Alaskan Cruisade! New Th

Hello Everyone, I haven't posted here before but I am a big Disney fan and have been watching all of your great comments on this posting. Our son has a tree nut and peanut allergy so it's the only company we trust when travelling. This will be our first cruise :)

I wanted to let everyone know of a great and less expensive option if people are looking for a helicopter tour. We have booked a tour in Juneau with era helicopters: eraflightseeing.com/content/index_eng.html

They drop you off on a glacier for 15 minutes...eeeee...so exicited. But I wanted to mention that we found a coupon at toursaver.com that is a 2 for 1 deal. Hope that we may see some of you on our flight...it will be three of us (Annette, Kooper and Matt).

thank you for all of the great information on the Northern Lights...see u on the
cruise.

Annette, you and your family are going to have so much fun. We just loved our first cruise so much and here we are again ready to cruise with Disney!

How old is your son Kooper? My son Owen just turned 8 and is so excited to check out the kids clubs on the Wonder as our last cruise was on the Magic and he had a blast. (He even blew us off for dinner one night, choosing to eat in the Oceaneers Club with the other kids.)

Welcome and I look forward to meeting you onboard!
Marni

Ok, here's another question for those of you who have been planning excessively as I have. ;)

In Juneau, I know we can take the Blue Bus to Mendenhall Glacier for $16 pp round-trip. Has anyone read anything about a one-way price? Even their web site only mentioned round-trip. Our Whale Watching tour company will pick us up at the glacier, but can't decide the best way for 5 of us to get there. Thanks for any help you may offer!

OH WOW, OH WOW, OH BOY!!!!

I am so gonna pray hard that we get great weather and lights! Wondering if Walt can work some of his magic for us...wouldn't that just be great!

Sounds like we will do one of those telephone lines to be sure everyone gets the word if the party is on! (or maybe we should just party on anyway:rotfl:). Thanks Paula for the reminder...gonna have to check in some other way since I probably wont make the meets as I plan to still be in port :)

Jumping up and down:banana:

Piikea, I know I will miss some of them due to the ports too. I know I won't be carrying one of the wave phones around. but I will have a small white board on my cabin door:)

I would imagine they sell a one way ticket, did you try sending them an email?

The posting on the other boards said it was $8 o/w. That is how they got the $16 r/t. Was gonna suggest renting car but that won't help you. Best bet will be the bus I think. I am going first thing in the am too so will see you there. (Still haven't decided on the whale watch but thanks for the information you gave me:))

I know its kinda late for others but I am still working on my FE - did you pm your info to Paula (just in case you wanted to participate)?

Glad you jumped in!:thumbsup2

We are doing the Big Blue Bus too. I am almost positive they have a one way option although I didn't see it on their website. Let us know what you find out!

They did confirm they offer a one-way ticket and we can just pay the bus driver, but for 5 of us, I'm starting to wonder if it wouldn't make more sense to rent a car, see the glacier early, they come back for lunch before whale watching.

You know ~ that might be a better idea since the younger and older of your group may want to rest prior to the excursion. Then you can leave and return when you want. I read on another board about rent a wreck in juneau.

Hi Marni,

Nice to "e-meet" you :) My son Kooper is almost 8 and I can't wait to experience this first cruise with him. I am certain that Kooper will be the only Kooper with a " k " on board so hopefully him and Owen will meet up. We are travelling with our great friends and their girls, so he is sure to be on the lookout for boys to play with :)

3 weeks and counting!

ooooh Are we able to still participate in the FE? I was sure that I had waited too long, not knowing if I would have the time to put anything together. My girlfriend partipated last year and thought it was great!

It's a 20 minute drive out of town right? Between 5 people, that couldn't be more than $35 that you would pay for the bus. I'd ask the cab driver before you got in.

Annette, I will be more than happy to add your family to the list. The close out date was 8/1, but please understand that you may not get a gift from everyone if they have already completed their purchases:) You can send me a pm with your information or post it here. I need your stateroom and the persons and ages of children in your cabin:goodvibes

It would be $40 for the bus so a cab might be a better option for the 5 of us as well. Just starting to weigh all options.

Got another $45 credit from DCL yesterday. Also order my Disney Visa Rewards card to help pay for the excursions. Been saving for over a year knowing this cruise was coming up. Every little bit helps!

It seems that our cruise is "sold" out again. I imagine it probably really is sold out this time.

I am still hoping for some pixiedust: in the upgrade department!

Not sure why folks are getting credits. I got an email yesterday that we owe DCL $30. Can't figure out why.

If the $30 was in parentheses, ($30), then it is a $30 credit. Our credit was $15 pp. If you look at the Total Due vs. the Less Payments at the bottom of the e-mail, Total Due should be less than what you paid.
