Alaska 06/11/12 Anyone Sailing ?

I also use a Rebel from a few years ago! You have a fantastic eye. I think your trip sounds amazing. Can't wait to see the pics from Glacier Natl!

So we had our first bump in the road.......
I got an email from Delta changing our itinerary. I figured it was just a time change and it wouldn't be a big deal because we are flying in the day before. However, when I looked our arrival time only changed by a little over an hour. What had changed was our amount of stops. We originally had 1 stop and now our flight had 2 plane changes. Yikes! I just knew that great fare was going to cost us somehow.:rotfl: My DH and DS13 are not too big on flying and when they heard they had to survive 3 takeoffs/landings they were not happy. Plus, I figured we would never see our luggage again. No way it would not get lost over 3 flights. :scared: While my mind was running with pictures of trying to get our luggage back from Fiji I noticed the fine print. It said if our arrival time was changed more than an hour we might be eligible to change flights at no cost. I checked....ours changed by an hour and ten minutes!:thumbsup2 Jump on to the website, search flight, find a great one so I click the button to see if there would be any charges and I get a message in red that I have to call. Not holding out much hope I pick up the phone and call. Guess what? They changed our flights!!!:cheer2: All is good in our world again.:rotfl2:
Sorry for the long story/rant but just wanted to share.

In other news I made reservations for all of our transportation. Hotel to Pier, Pier to different hotel, hotel to airport. I made them with Already There Transportation. They were super nice and I think the prices are great! I read reviews and people seem very happy with them. In fact, I think I found out about them from a post here on the boards somewhere.

We haven't sailed since they started the arrival times for the port. Do they do this in Seattle or is it just PC? Does anyone know when they open the port and what the first arrival times are? Hoping to get an early one!

My TA is going out of town the first week of March so I'm going to make our final payment next week. Can't wait until the 13th so we can book our excursions.:cheer2:

Grumpymom73.... Glad the flight thing got worked out! I am going to check out already there as well. I have no idea either about port arrival time. Usually it is 10 am.

Congrats on paying off the cruise soon. We paid last week:yay::woohoo:

No need to apologize for the rant. I adore stories where people can get an airline to respect them. :)

I have the link to the FE info - will look at it next week. I'm taking 5 college classes this semster, and don't have time many weeks to check in on this forum. Next week is spring break - I'll be all over this stuff - and paying our final payment too!

Any Gold or Platinum members on here? Wondering if anyone booked yet, or booking in a few days.

Next Friday for us to make sure everything clears for our booking day March 13! :cool1:

Scouring the site, figuring out what we want to do (beside Palo brunch and spa). 100 days until we fly out!!!

Hi everyone
I havent been on for a while.
I am sorry to say due to family commitments, we have
to cancel our Alaskan cruise. We are still able to go to the West
Coast (flights are booked), but will have to return to UK earlier
than planned.
I hope you all have a lovely cruise. :)

We have 4 cabins - one platinum, one gold, one silver and one first-timer.
Platinum and gold are within booking window.
Booked midnight the first night we could
Was able to get 2 deuces for Palo brunch and dinner.
Was able to call and request a Palo reservation for all adults across the cabins (9) for dinner, but there was only one opening during the entire week that could accommodate that.
Port Adventures still appear to be all available.

Got 3 out of 4 passports in the mail today!! Told my DH the kids and I will just have to go without him. :rotfl2:

For those for whom this might apply.....

I could not locate a Catholic Mass near the pier in the time frame that we will be in port that Sunday. I was able to communicate with the diocese and a parish priest will be saying Mass at 7 pm, about .25 miles from the ship for DCL cruise passengers.

St Andrew's Cathedral
740 View St
Victoria, Canada V8W 1J8

I will be asking DCL to put this in the navigator as well, but just in case......
Please keep us informed of any developments on this. My family will be 5 for that Mass. Thanks for checking!
