Thanks for everyone's responses!

rlduvall, did their email response have a special phone number or was it the 1-800-GO-ALAMO number? (Please pm me if you would prefer.) DH tried calling the GO-ALAMO number once, but received the "Oh no, that can't be done." response. OH REALLY? Hmmm, ok. It was 10 pm, so he wasn't in the mood to question it at that moment. But I'm going with the theory "If you ask the same question enough times, you're going to get the answer you want." And if they don't give me the answer I want, then I'll ask for the supervisor. "Why? Oh, I wanted to see if he/she has the number for National Car Rental in their rolodex. I hear they have an Emerald Aisle." :teeth:

It was the 1-800-GO-ALAMO number. I called it this morning. I started out the conversation by telling her I received an e-mail from their corporate office that my qs number could not be added to the existing reservation, but they could do a new reservation, match the rate and enter my qs number. Not trusting the situation entirely, I asked her to NOT cancel my existing reservation, I would do it myself (when I knew all was correct) :teeth: Well she made the new reservation and quoted a much higher price. I said, no, I was told they could match the old rate. She put me on hold, then came back and said that was true and to again give her the old confirmation number and she would get me the same rate on my new reservation. She gave me a new confirmation number, but it did not show the lower rate for about 8 hours. :confused3

You were a very lucky happy lawyer :teeth: (sounds like an oxy moron) They actually aren't supposed to do that, but I am very happy for you . . . it took me a little more work. :goodvibes

why not? the QS people did it themselves, i made my resv in January, when they assigned me a number for qs they put it on my resv, they are taking care of their customers, i don't know why anyone feels they are not supposed to do that, that is good business.

HappyLawyer:

Well, the majority of us have been told, more than once, that this cannot be done. I agree, it is good business and they should do it automatically. I don't know why so many of us haven't been able to have this done.

Possibly because you are calling the reservation number and not the QS number or the station manager.

I have my QS paperwork right in front of me and I don't see a QS phone number anywhere. Is it listed on their website?

It used to be. It was also on the back of my card, the credit card type that they replaced with flimsy paper.

Yeah - mine is the flimsy paper kind. Nothing is on the back. Unfortunately, all they list is their standard 1-800 number. Hopefully, my reservation will be correct. I told them not to cancel my old one, but they did anyway - :furious: and I haven't received the e-mail for the new reservation with the modified correct rate. Because the rate was modified, I can't access it online by the confirmation number. Stuff like this drives me

We'll hope all is well . . . or I'm hopping over to National EA and just pay a little more. :goodvibes

I would be very frustrated at this point, were I you. It is this frustration that has lead me to only use National or Avis. Ironic because we all know that National is sister co to Alamo, but, they just seem to work better.

I called 1-877-252-6600 yesterday, which I think is their Internet support center number. I then pressed "1" to talk with someone about reservations. The lady I talked to was really nice. She said she couldn't add it to an existing reservation, but that she could make a new reservation with my QS number for me and I would keep the same rate. I made her confirm the total amount with me several times. (I'm sure she thought I was nuts!) I never could view the new reservation using the new confirmation number she gave me, so I called and talked to them again this morning. They e-mailed me my new reservation, and the QS service had been added to it and my amount remained the same. Whew!

Darn. I wish I had used that number instead of the 1-800 number they told me to use. I can't access the new reservation either and when I called them about it they said they would e-mail it to me. Two days later, still no e-mail, so I just had to send a long-winded e-mail to corporate to try to get it. It's about a $40. difference. So frustrating. :furious:
