Alamo - 1 week - less than $200

I booked a 1 week minivan from alamo yesterday
picking up at DW Car Care Center and dropping off
at MCO (after Cruise) for $189.00 (Dec. 4 -11, 2005)

Is this a good rate?

When do i pay for rental?
When i pick up at car care center or at the airport?
Will i have trouble using these codes?

Sounds like a great rate.

You will need to leave a credit card number when you pick up the car. They will put a block on your card for generally the amount of the rental (sometimes alittle more). They will probably block about $200 on your card that you will not be able to use. When you return the car, they will charge the total amount of the rental. Basically, they block off the amount they think you will owe so that when you return the car they know you already have the credit to pay for it and you can't max out your card before they get their payment.

If you use a coupon code, you will need to give them the coupon when you pick up the car.

You might read the fine print of the coupon as well as some of the threads on this forum. I have read that you cannot stack deals with alamo and many have had trouble and refusals of alamo counter agents to honor the booking at that price. What I have been told is you have to use all the codes from one coupon, and the coupon itself says you can't combine with other offers.

FYI--I used the ACG coupon and its codes printed off of mousesavers and got a minivan in sept for 7 days at $199.78, so you can still get a good deal using all the info from 1 coupon and not mixing and matching.
