AKV - Is This Too Risky?

We are considering a small add-on for AKV; about 65 points. I was able to receive a transfer of AKV points for this year and am already booked for December. Woo Hoo for me!!:cloud9:

Our UY for our existing contract is April. I am seriously considering waiting until next March to add on these points. I don't need them until then and the $3.00 increase effective June 5th is not that substantial of an increase for 65 points. In fact, that's about what I would save myself by not paying the pro-rated dues for this year. My thought is I would have 2007 points available immediately and then my 2008 points would be coming on in a few days. I mean, I know I could bank the 2007 points now, but why invest the money right now, if not necessary.

Is there any downside to this, i.e. could our UY be potentially sold out? :confused3

Thanks everyone.

I am curious about the replies that shed light on this. Sorry I have no input to offer

It's not likely that any use years will sell out before the resort is even fully open. I wouldn't worry about this and if you want to wait until next year to purchase the points, it sounds reasonable and not at all risky.

Good luck!

Our use year is also April. We can't use our points at AKV until Sept 1st. Our payments started May 15th. There is a law regarding unit sales and we were told that some UY sales may be postponed waiting on construction. That is one of the reasons that they are working overtime and weekends on the project. Good luck.
