Today was the day for Aquatica and hopefully the weather would be kind to us! We arrived at the Aquatica just before 9am and we were amazed to get a spot right by the park entrance! Once in we found our loungers, under a nice umbrella and went and put our valuables in a locker before heading off to try the rides :cool2: First stop was the dolphin plunge as the queue was getting bigger. The ride was not what we expected the first bit was rather dark and steep and the ride through the dolphin pool was quick!!! After this we went on several other rides and floated around the river by the dolphin pool. In allwe did about 3 other rides including the family raft ride and the ‘sink ride’, this was the most entertaining as we went around and around and around before we finally feel out the hole! By now the sun was getting hot so we went and had a lie down. After a while I decided to go and get some piccies.

The weather was perfect and we stayed much longer than expected, having the umbrella helped as we could shelter from the hot May sun :beach: Drinks and crisps kept us going and we eventually left at about 3pm as we were off out for dinner tonight to the Olive Garden which was DBIL and DSIL’s choice as it was there last night in Orlando before heading off for a week at West Palm Beach. Just before we left I got a few last piccies of the entrance.

We got to the Olive Garden and there was a bit of a wait so we sat outside and studied the menu :knfork: We were seated just before 8pm and first thing to do was order the wine :teeth:

Wine_Olive_Garden.JPG

To start with I had the Stuffed Mushrooms - Parmesan, romano and mozzarella cheese, clams and herb breadcrumbs baked in mushroom caps. as did DBIL and DSIL.

Nathan had the Bruschetta - A traditional topping of roma tomatoes, fresh basil and extra-virgin olive oil. Served with toasted ciabatta bread.

I fancied pasta so had the Chicken Alfredo - Grilled chicken tossed with fettuccine and fresh alfredo sauce.

Nathan had the Lasagna Classico - Layers of pasta, meat sauce and mozzarella, ricotta, parmesan and romano cheese.

DBIL raved about the Chianti Braised Short Ribs - Tender boneless beef short ribs slow cooked in a chianti wine sauce. Served with portobello mushroom risotto and steamed vegetables. from previous visits so had that.

While DSIL also had pasta in the form of Braised Beef & Tortelloni - Tender sliced short ribs and portobello mushrooms tossed with asiago-filled tortelloni in a basil-marsala sauce..

By the time we had finished we were very very full especially as we had the breadsticks and mixed salad!!! So off we went back to AKV :)
