Okay! So I've over planned and obsessed over many details....just last evening at Panara dh asks about the coffee at AKL. So, I know that there's the horrid stuff for the refillable mugs. Is there an in room coffee pot? Do they provide those mini packets of coffee? What brand? Do they provide cream and sugar? Is there anywhere to get good coffee...like in the Poly...they have a coffee bar area? Thanks!!!

Coffee makers, Yes. But bring your own coffee!

Starbucks 4 ever! :surfweb:

The coffee at Mara is medium/bold; whatever it is, it was a real BIG eye-opener and really got me going. :surfweb: It was strong, but i diluted it a bit and it was drinkable. The rest of our stay it was hit or miss; somedays it would be ok, others it would be stronger.

Take your own coffee if you want something more to your liking. The in-room packets of coffee taste nasty; it definetly didn't agree with my stomach.

Unless you're getting a pot of Kenyan at Boma's, the coffee is horrid. The stuff at Mara is, I suspect, the same Nescafe that's served all over WDW and is either overbearingly, stomach meltingly strong or brown water.

The good news is there ARE coffee pots in the room. I would avoid the coffee they provide, though, because it's not much better than the stuff at Mara. Bring your own.

One other option, possibly: I know they've started offering an expanded food selection at Zawadi marketplace, more or less because of the new DVC presence. I'm not sure if, or what, they'd sell for coffee (or if it would cost roughly the same price as one night of your hotel stay.... ;) ), but if you don't want to transport it, you can always check there. If they don't have it...a quick hop on a bus to SSR, OKW or any of the "general stores" attached to DVC resorts will turn some up (though it'll be pricier doing it that way).
