AKL or CSR?

We are going to WDW end of Sept/early Oct. Need help deciding on resort. Would like to try both but will not split stay. Would you pick Animal Kingdom Lodge or Coronado Springs Resort? We have stayed at all of the other 3 moderates and the Wilderness Loadge 3 times. So far we have liked everywhere we have stayed. My daughter (6) votesAKL. My son (8)
votes for CSR resort (he thinks the pool/slide look cool) I could go either way. Hubby would probably prefer CSR because of $. Other than money, what resort would you pick. We are Ap holders and hope to get a good rate where ever we decide to stay.

Coronado Springs Resort !!! You would like it much better! AKL is too dark, too far away, crabby CMs, hardly any animals for a savannah view, strange food...need I go on? CSR is less expensive and a whole lot better! You can always visit AKL anyways, they have public viewing areas (not that great either).

I couldn't disagree more. The AKL is the best resort period. The savannah view we had seemed bad at first (on one far end of the hotel), but that changed the following morning when I woke up to see a family of giraffe waking up and starting to eat right in front of our window.

The buffet dinner at Boma is amazing. The food may be different but it's some of the best at WDW. At least it's the best buffet anywhere.

And my wife reminded me that the room was far more quiet than any other that we've had (Pop Century was miserably loud the night we stayed there).

The bus ride is a little long from there, but depending on the park, every resort has a long ride to somewhere.

Both resorts are great!

AKL is great - we always see lots of animals, but I highly recommend the pool view because it is so gorgeous, day and night. The food here is so good also. The resort has an exotic feel all around - beautful rooms, not dark feelling at all with the bright and vibrant beds. We typically like beachy feeling resorts but there is something special about AKL. Someone described the feeling here as a cross between the WL (rustic) and Polynesian (exotic). After staying here, I would have to agree. Good food court with nice selection also - found it comparable for what we eat to any of the moderates. Beautiful zero entry pool area and love Boma! Here you get interior corridors and balconies as opposed to CSR.

CSR is great too - yes you would save $ and it has a great pool area and definitely better slide for your 8 yr old. Good food court, beach areas are nice to lounge on, recreation bikes and boats are a nice feature.

If your looking for pampering yourself a little more, go for AKL. Your kids would like either I'm sure for different reasons. Good luck!

Hehehe Im not the biggest fan of AKL but I would stay there again just for Boma It is good, and I didnt find the food strange at all.

AKL is nice, I cant comment on CSR yet, trying it out this trip unless I can convince the wife to stay at WL again.

Again, I would say CSR. I am a believer that paying that much for a room just to sleep is crazy. CSR offers many deluxe type amenities. Check out my CSR website for pics, links and info.
