The name of this piece is "Celebration." We met the artist (can't remember his name off the top of my head) and he talked art with my very artistic older DS. He was very nice! We bought a print of the same subject -- I can't wait to get it framed and up in my house. We call our house the Animal Kingdom Lodge too. :)

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!

GREAT pics John's Mom! Thank you for sharing. :goodvibes

Oh wow, that is awesome. What a very magical moment for your DS. Did you meet him while at AKL?

Yes -- he was in Zawadi at least two nights while we were there. He has a lot of prints and larger paintings for sale there. He was very gracious and chatted with us for a long time. He lives in Orlando, has/had a galery there and sells his work at Zawadi. I'll look up his name and let you all know it tomorrow.

I will have to take a closer look when we visit Zawadi, I love the piece in the picture from John's Mom, so I bet I'll like his other stuff too.

....is that Santa Simba, or does he have rabies??

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I've got a DVC question for all you experts....
So, we are using almost all our Developer points on this upcoming trip, we will be left with 8. I know these can't be banked - but I HATE to see them just disappear. It would be nice to trade them or be able to sell them, but even if I can give them away it would be better then wasting them! Any advice??

And, I JUST got off the phone with DVC Member Services and booked Kidani Village for December 8 - 15!!!!!!!! party:

I can't wait to book my siblings only, Dec 09' trip! I have to wait till Jan. 26th for my 11-month window :sad1: However, I am attempting to book a savanna studio at Jambo. I am saving Kidani for Dec. 2010, so my whole family can expirence it for the first time together.

Updates - Animal Kingdom Villas and Lodge

Construction continues on the Kidani Village with an opening date of May 1, 2009 for Phase I. All amenities will open in May including the pool, restaurant, and Pembe Savanna. Animals are already in the process of being acclimated to Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Phase I contruction is now completed. This was the renovation of existing rooms in the Animal Kingdom Lodge, called the Jambo House. Outside construction of the new animal barn is also complete. Disney Vacation Club has announced that the Kidani Village will open on May 1, 2009. Members who call Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas "home" may make reservations starting August 10, 2008.

As the development of Kidani Village continues at Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas, crews are preparing to complete the new savanna and acclimate the animals to their new habitat. To accommodate this important process, animals are not scheduled to be on Sunset Savanna from January 15-April 15, 2009.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything that you can do with developer's points except for maybe rent them. You can't bank them or transfer them.

Awesome! Hopefully we will run into each other since I will be at Kidani from 12/5-15.

Thanks for the info! I took these pictures while we were waiting for the Magical Express bus. I thought the piece looked very interesting.

Great pictures -- makes me wish I were still there. When were you there? Did we just miss each other? I was there 12/18-24. I remember several folks on this thread were going all around the same time.

Also - I can't make out the artist's name. It is Robert something, but I can't find it anywhere and can't tell from his signature on the print. Bensmom, do you know?
