Thanks for the pictures RachelTori - those are great. Nice that they've added the signs as a little touch on the way over. And thanks for the PM - I broke it DH and he was not happy about the menu. ;)

Awwww, Henry is adorable!! What a cutie-pie!! :cloud9:

You haven't missed it, I haven't had time yet to give my impressions of Kidani; but I will sum up quickly (more details and pictures later!) -- it's a YAY!!!! :thumbsup2

:yay:

Thanks! :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear it's a YAY!!! :woohoo: I can't wait for your extra details and pics!!!!

...OMG! :faint: Boy, did THAT go by ever-so-fast! And, what a cutie-patootie....

Don't I know it!!!!!!!!! He's 34" tall. One more inch and he can ride Goofy's Barnstormer! Today we watched it on YouTube and I asked him "Do you want to ride that when we go to Disney World in December?" He nodded. :rotfl: We'll see what he (and I!) think come December though...

:upsidedow I'm behind as usual - caught up on the last couple of pages...

...she'll probably get there before I do....

And me...:sad1:

I'm trying, really I am!! It's a s-l-o-w process and my little Nikon really let me down this trip. Guess it's time for another camera -- and another trip!! :rotfl:

How about some pictures of the signs along the walkway from Jambo to Kidani? (if you don't want to know the answers, don't read these! ;))

Great sign pictures!! :thumbsup2

Thanks! :goodvibes

So cute! He'll love Goofy's Barnstormer!!

I'm trying, I'm really trying to get organized and get some pictures posted - life keeps getting in the way!!! :rotfl2:

Here are some Jambo pictures:

Room 4219, no room pictures because - really - we've seen the standard rooms a gazillion or so times before!

View from our balcony - obviously not the best time to take a picture of the Savanna!

What I did our first night - and every other night! :rotfl: (I could have sworn they used to offer more wines than just the Chardonnay, Merlot and Shiraz! ;)):

More of what I did most nights! (I miss the Baileys, but the Amarula was a good substitute! :thumbsup2):

These desserts were OK, but where were the Zebra Domes?!!! (they didn't have them out any of the 7 nights we stayed Club Level )

I never get tired of this view!

Thanks for such a great thread! I'm enjoying reading through past posts. My apologies if the following questions have been answered in this thread, I just can't seem to find them (and there are so many pages!).

I will be staying in a 1-bedroom concierge-level room in Jambo House in January and have a few questions since the last time we were there a couple of years ago...

1. Where is the lounge now located? Is it back to the sixth floor space overlooking the lobby?

2. Where are the concierge villa rooms located? I know that the villas (studio to grand) are located on the fifth and sixth floors of the resort and that regular concierge is on the fourth.

3. What type of views do concierge-level villas get? I read somewhere that now all concierge rooms (for non-DVC villas) are guaranteed savannah views without a pool view being an option. Is this the same for the concierge-level villas?

Thanks so much! We can't wait!

Hi! Let's see, yes the concierge lounge is located in that space on the 6th floor that over looks the lobby. The AKV CL rooms are all on the 6th floor so you will be very near the lounge. OK, now the bad news, the views from the AKV CL rooms aren't as good as the views from the 5th floor. I stayed in a studio that overlooked the sunset savanna, when I stayed at CL last year and I thought that the view was just "ok". All the trees on the savanna below the room tended to hide the animals. I actually thought that the pool view (which I saw from the area by the elevator) was better than the savanna view at CL.

Funny story:

Tori doesn't turn 16 until August, but since she's back in school by then (:headache:), I wanted to do a little treat for an early celebration. The CL CMs scheduled a small cake to be delivered on Monday (June 1st). Several hours later I realized that the day before (Sunday, May 31st) would be better: we were doing the Sunrise Safari and would be back to the room mid-afternoon. So I asked them to change the delivery date. "No problem!"

On Sunday afternoon, here's what was waiting in our room:

Can you guess what happened on Monday?

Cake number 2!!!

DSCN3861.jpg

We brought one to the lounge to share and still wasted almost a whole cake!

And months ago, I had asked Don to set up a "small" treat for Tori for our last night. After the 2nd cake had been delivered, I asked the CM's to cancel that last night request.

I'll bet you already guessed what happened!!!

At least it wasn't a cake!!! :) It was lovely, but definitely not worth $30!!! (and we were totally "sweeted out" but then! :rotfl:)

She sure was! This was the trip of a lifetime for her! She was onstage at the American Idol Experience with Kris Allen! (her feet still haven't touched the ground!! :cloud9:)

Laura - I loved all your photos!! Looks like Tori had a good early BDay celebration with lots of cake. :goodvibes And I am sure she will always remember her time on the AI stage!

Some Kidani pictures:

1-bedroom villa, Sunset Savanna View. This room was located about mid-way down the trail, on the Jambo side. (made the walk to Jambo even shorter! ;))

Washer/Dryer is in a closet near the entry:

This full bath is off the kitchen/living room. I thought it was very nice -- until I saw the awesome Master Bathroom! :rotfl:

From the living room, view back to the entry door. Green door is the lock-off to the Studio Villa.

great photos, Laura! Looks like a good addition to the DVC stable and it does fit right in with Jambo House! :goodvibes

Thanks, Elin! I loved Kidani! The only 2 negatives I found:

1) No counter service. On the other hand, eating at Sanaa more than made up for no CS!! Had 2 lunches there and will post pictures later. (YUMMY!!!)

2) The bus stop can get crowded; several parks share bays. Although the bus stop is covered, walking to and from it is wide open sky. Not a problem unless it's storming! :scared1: Speaking from experience, then it can be a bit challenging! :rotfl:
