AKL Club Level

We are current DVC owners and are looking to add on at AKL with direct points for benefits. We prefer Jambo house, but have always been under the impression that you can book at Jambo or Kidani at the 11 month mark as they are considered the same resort. Our guide today said he would have to check if they had any Jambo points available without a waitlist, but that they definitely had Kidani available. When I mentioned it wasn’t like it really mattered, he said that it only matters if we want to try and book club level at Jambo at the 11 month mark which doesn’t seem right. For current AKL owners, what’s your experience? Do you own at Kidani and have you been able to book club level 11 months out? I know it’s difficult regardless, but I’d prefer to have the opportunity.

Kidani = Jambo at the 11 month window.

But club level is still very iffy due to only having a handful of possible villas to book.

Thanks! Yes, I know it’s near impossible even if you can get on right at 11 months, but can’t hurt to try every once in a while.

Yes, the DVC guide is definitely wrong. We own at Kidani, and we book Jambo 11 months out all the time. We've booked CL, value, and standard rooms throughout our 13 years of ownership.

There have been a couple of isolated cases around when the website was upgraded when members lost their 11 month booking privileges' at either Kidani or Jambo (the one they did not "own" at). These were IT "glitches" in account set-up/transfer and got resolved with some calls to MS. I would test booking at either any time between the 7 month and 11 months windows just confirm your account is set up properly. But as several have stated, owning at either building, gives an owner 11 month booking access at both buildings.

I can confirm it doesn't matter. AKV is treated the same regardless of Kidani or Jambo. My contract is technically Kidani but I've booked values at Jambo at the 11 mo mark. Club level has been impossible up until the pandemic.

Neither my direct nor my resale deeds show which resort they are at.

Once you have access to your account you will be able to see. The top bar in your dashboard will show which one you own, when you go to book a reservation the one you own at will be autoselected, or you can go to Manage Vacation Points and it will show your contracts there.

Since everyone answered you about Kidani, I'll touch on the Club Level question. Yes, it's definitely possible to book club level at the 11 month mark. I don't know how, but I've been successful booking it several times. It can be a bit stressful, and you may have to be flexible with your dates, but having that option is one of the best things about being a AKL DVC owner, at least for me it is. Plus it doesn't hurt that it's my favorite resort anyway.

I just looked up my AKV deed and it also says the same as yours no reference to Jambo or Kidani.

Our AKV contract is Kidani and I have booked both club level and value multiple times, however, I've never actually stayed in club level, something has always come up when I've had those reservations. I've had much more success picking up days at a day or 2 after the 11 month window as the walkers are dropping them.

Unit 113B will be assigned to a certain room or group of rooms. This location will either be in Jambo or Kidani. I do not have the DVC breakdown but I’m sure someone knows where to find it.

Where do you find the plans? I’m curious to see where my Kidani points are located.
I bought Riviera too but I haven’t gotten the deed back yet. I think it’s recording today.
