AKL Bound...See you next Saturday!!!

So um is was a great Saturday if your goal was to spend it with family. Just got back form my sil. I did decide to put the kids in their own carrys ons and ditch the idea of them sharing 1 big suitcase. But other than that....I spent most of the afternoon cleaning the Durango. Its a 4 hr drive to the airport and it was a mess. It look so pretty now! So tomorrow night I need to pack. The basement is waiting untill we return from vacation!!!

Wow....I never tjought we'd make it here when we began the 100 day countdown calendar. 1 week and counting!

It does sound like a great Saturday. How is Austin feeling today? I hope he is feeling much better. That is a long drive to the airport . Did you say how long the flight is going to be? You may have and my brain doesn't remember. I am feeling today . Packing is so much fun though. So you will have a good time with that. It is good that the basement is waiting, you need to get rested so everybody can be well and ready for the Happiest Place on Earth .

I hope Austin is feeling better. Sorry that the boss is being so hard headed. At least you'll be done with all of that soon! The to do list sounds good.

My house is clean now and I have all my clothes in the suitcases ready to be ironed. I'm mostly packed!

At this time next week, we'll be settling into our AKL bed after our first day at Disney.

We have a 3 1/2 hr drive to the Minneapolis Airport and then just over a 3 hr flight. Its almost 25 hrs by car...Jason and I drove to the beach there in 2003. Ugh~Never again with kids. I wish I could have gotten non stop flights out of Des Moines, but at this time last year when I booked they weren't offering them. Des Moines is only 2 hours and its about a 2.5 hr flight.

So Jenny is spending the morning in the field with daddy. Austin is playing in bed and I am trying to sort through the items on my floor. Yikes! We have a 1st communion to go to at noon today, but then tonight its me and my suitcases, again!

Just found your PTR (just as it will turn into a TR). I just recently realized what a PTR was. Sounds like you have everything together. So, sorry to hear of all the problems Austin's been having. When I told you on the other thread that you would be ready for Disney magic I never realized all the stuff you have been going through to get to this stage.

Well, Disney is a place of magic!!! I'm also glad ya'll decided on AKL, can't wait to hear you trip report about the resort. Danny & I were talking last night. We may actually go back next year (we usually plan for 5 yrs) and try to shoot for the "Free Dining" and stay at the AKL.

So after 5 hrs in the tractor Jenny decided she wanted to come back home. We played outside. Have to take advantage of the warm weather when there are no mosquitos in Iowa. Had to post Jenny and Austin at the same age:

OH MY GOODNESS, they look like the same baby. And they don't look like they were premies either .

What time are y'all leaving on the 16th? Are y'all planning on going to any park at all that day? It would be so nice to meet you. I will get in late on the 15th so that day isn't an option. If only Dale would take that day off.......grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I know Jenny is so tall for her class. Too funny since she wasn't even on the charts for height or weight until she turned 1. She was 17 lbs on her 1st birthday, Austin weighed in at 21. He has always been chubbier, but shorter too. We leave early on the 16th. Our flight is at 1:25 so no parks. With the drive home we always try to land by 4 so we are getting home close to dark. I know...I was so sad to miss the huge Dis Meet.

You did and I concur. There is no way I would fly. Dale and I were talking yesterday about where we live and how we feel really blessed. Dale has flown once, when he lived in Dallas, and he hated it. I really want to go to Ireland, but I will have to take a ship I know in my heart I could not fly there.
When the economy started getting bad I started looking for nurses jobs in Ireland. Good pay, but the cost of living.............

So the suitcases are packed...I still need to go over my list and see what items I am missing. I am staring at my camera, so I know it is not in there. Plus I have a feeling I didn't pack Austin any pjs. We are in 1 large suitcase and 2 carryons, plus Jenny's Backpack and my purse. It said 1 per person on Northwest plus your purse...so we should be good to go. We also have the dbl stroller, but they always have you push that up and then they take it. I feel like I have so much to do yet. I just went to the post office and stopped our mail. I realized Austin has his pre-op today and Jenny has an eye Dr. App. I am getting my hair higlighted tomorrow. Yeah! Surgery is on Wed. Austin has photo re-takes on Thursday. What a week...

I spent last night checking out dining reports and looking at food photos. I am thinking for CS....Flame Tree B-B-Que, Columbia Harbor House (I love the clam chowder at Disneyland), Tangerine Cafe (Jason wants lamb), Caseys Corner (I eat anything with cheese on it).
