Can anyone explain why Saturday morning flights to MCO for summer weeks (June-July) flying out of Cleveland, OH are $420 but flying out of Detroit, MI are just $175? No way am I paying $420.

Do I hold out and hope the Cleveland price drops or do I commit to a 2 hour drive to Det? Anyone with prior experience with something like this?
Thanks.

Supply and Demand??? Marketing??? The strange things the computers do with fares???

If you are looking at Southwest, I'd grab the $175 out of Detroit, then keep an eye on fares for both Cleveland and Detroit. If fares go down, you can change your flights and get a credit which has to be used in 1 year of original ticket purchase. Southwest does not charge change fees.

Unfortunately, it's not SW. It's Continental out of Cleveland and Delta out of Detroit. Anybody know if they charge change fees etc?

Have you checked Southwest at www.southwest.com? Fares out of Chicago in the latter part of August are less than $100 one way.

If that is $175 round trip, that's a good fare and I think I'd grab it, even if I had to drive the 2 hours. I've driven to Milwaukee for cheaper fares which is about 2 hours for me.

Good Luck.

It depends on the fare you purchase. If you buy the cheapest fare offered, it probably will come with a $150 change fee/no refund, you can view the rate rules during the process of reviewing flight options.
