:) Hi! Has anyone purchased the Ozark Trail air mattress with frame? I am looking for the best air mattress go buy for our long tent camping at FW in Sept. I was think that at least DH and I would like to be off the ground. I have bought 2 22" inch air mattresses already but I am ready to take them back if I find something better.

The price of this mattress at Walmart I could get all of us one! I have 2 sets of twins so I was thinking one for each set too!

My DH is around 200 lbs so I don't want the frame to break! he he!

I am welcome to any suggestions!

Hi,

I saw that too...I was also considering the double thick matress that is on sale this week for $38 and includes the pump...do you know anything about that one?

thanks!!

billwendy,

I have bought a Coleman double thick and a Intex (I believe-I would have run down stairs to confirm that!) double thick. They are both new and we have not tried them yet. I figured that if we keep both of them...whichever is the firmest...we will sleep on. The kid's weight does not effect the mattress like ours does! he he

We are planning on 10 nights so I want to be able to sleep comfortably. As you know 1-3 nights you can grin a bear but 10 is another story.

I might really consider the Aero Bed, tim5055, if you swear by it.

I would really like to know if anyone has tried either the double thick mattresses or any of the ones with frames!

Thank you so much!

I'll have to let you know next week. I bought one with a frame at Target, but I haven't used it yet. I just hated sleeping so close to the ground on our other air mattress. I'll be at FW next week, so I can let you know then whether or not I got any sleep on the framed mattress.

Hi,

We bought the mattress on a frame a couple of years ago but found we had a problem with it. I was one that had a frame with straps that the mattress sits on. I think that the joints where the frame comes together puts stress on the mattress. My husband and I are both ample people and after a couple of uses we had a problem keeping the mattress inflated. We purchased the double high mattress at Wal Mart for our last scout trip and really liked it. The rechargable pump pumped the mattress up in about two minutes, and it supported us well. The other advantage to this mattress is that it stores much more compactly. I would definitely recommend the double high. I hope this helps. Val

Thanks kingdomqueen,

I feel better about the double thick ones now. I wonder if they make a double thick king size. We are taking two nice size tents so we would have room. I might have to do a search!

:D

Have you ever been able to put your inflatable mattress completely back in the box it came in....I mean being able to close
the top and without the sides bulging out.:confused3

I think they must build the box around the mattress.:teeth:

stevenp-
We could NEVER get the air mattress folded back into the box, so they travel in duffel bags, now! I can fit 2-3 air mattresses in one duffel bag, along with sheets and a small, battery-operated pump.

I never even bothered!! The box went straight in the trash. The air mattresses live in the bin with the tents, linens, and sleeping bags.

We do put the pump on reverse and deflate them as small as possible.

Carol

One thing that we have learned in the last few years of camping is to store your pump with the battery removed. There is nothing worse then getting to your campsite and having to sleep on the cold hard ground because your pump was accidently turned on during storage!
