I think we are nuts to even consider the week after Christmas given the stories I’ve heard, but it looks like it might be our only opportunity to go this year. Hoping some of you have been that time of year and can share your experiences. Thanks!

Haven't been to Universal week between Christmas and New Years but have been to WDW.
Its insane. Pack your patience. And have fun.

Did you still have fun even with the crowds? I feel like I would be fine. Crowds in themselves don’t bother me as long as I have express passes or lightning lanes.

We did this week back in 2019 (it was our first time visiting UO). With the Express Pass (we stayed 1 night at Royal Pacific and then moved off-site), we did everything and repeats of favs. The only thing we lost out on was Hagrids, but it was still new and they were shutting lines down early. I forget how we split our time at Universal, but we did 4 days total.

That was 2-3 days before Christmas, but it was the school break week, and Christmas fell mid-week. We then jumped over to Magic Kingdom for Christmas Eve, then Christmas in Tampa with family. We circled back and stayed off-site to finish our trip at UO.

I know it's been a while so crowds may be different, but we've done spring break twice since then (2023 and 2025). Single rider became our best friend! lol. We didn't get Express for these trips.

If you plan for Express and don't mind crowds everywhere, you'll be fine. Have a great time planning! :)

(Can't speak for Epic, but we plan to go earlier in Dec. this year since no school calendar to go around; at least I hope!)

Thanks so much for these details. They are super helpful. We are leaning toward Royal Pacific for the unlimited express pass.
