Air Conditioning Issues at AKL

Last December when I stayed at AKL (which I love) I had issues with how warm the room would get when we weren't there and at night. I run very hot and I had engineering come up and see if they could help, but it didn't really do anything.

I know that it's because of the motion sensors and I've read that you can use a balloon to trick it, but since no balloons are allowed in the AKL I'm wondering if the work around I've read about, pushing a certain combination of buttons will work. I wondered if anyone had any experiences with it as I'll be going back in December this year. (And yes it was warm enough the first week of December to really need the AC). Thanks.

I have had the SAME issue - my DS has asthma, so I had engineering come and take the fuse out of the sensor. No, they don't want to do it. TOUGH luck - you will have to MAKE them do it! I did this three times - once at AKL and twice at the Swan/Dolphin. My son gets very sick sometimes in the humidity in Orlando, and I have to have the air flow. I get annoyed when they say they can't do anything about it. That is a lie - they are told to say that. Now I'm going to the Dolphin next week, and I know by experience there to tell them to take the fuse out. There is no other way, no "special code" to enter. I read about that - it is hooey. I think you can do it yourself, but I just have them do it. It's a simple little fuse.

Thanks so much! I will definitely request they do this, and hope it won't be too much of a problem.

Someone posted how to override the a/c thermostat in a different thread..
Made a note of it for our Labor Day week trip since I expect it will be very hot that time of year...

I haven't posted enough just to link it...I'll give it a shot to copy/paste..
Hope this helps..
