Ahoy! Sailing the Wonder 2/8/09

I'm with you Krista! If they offered a 3 day to stay at CC only I'd be all over that!:beach: I don't need to go to a place where people are trying to hussle me to buy stuff all day. I don't think I'd get tired of that beautiful beach!
So sorry you had to miss the first few days Sharon. I'm glad you were able to get out and enjoy yourselves once everyone was feeling better.

We just got home this afternoon after several great days at WDW (vacation club does bad things to you--you really do start to believe that WDW is your second home).

MANY HUGE THANKS to all who contributed to our door decorations! You guys are absolutely the best! Koren loved her birthday dinner at Palo.

The fish extenders were great fun--loved the photo albums especially as well as the candy from Holland. It really did add to the fun of the trip.

I'll write more later, but wanted to get out a quick thank you to so many WONDERful friends as soon as I had internet access.
Kathryn

Forgot to mention that DD loved the mani/pedi sets. Thanks!
Did anyone else get major sinus trouble after the cruise? Maybe we got colds? We are all still coughing. I think we are almost through it... Sharon, sorry to hear about the illness. Glad its over and that you made it out of the boat! I have wondered about doing the glass bottom boat. Did you get to see cool fish?

FYI - Ritz/Wolfe Camera has 6 cent digital prints on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. You can pick up at one of their stores. I am not sure of the price to have them mailed but I bet it is still cheap. I have used them before and was pleased with the quality. Website is ritzcamera.com I will hopefully upload my photos today and order tomorrow. My husband wants me to get started scrapbooking them. I think it is so he can see how well spent the money was while he pays the Credit Card bills!!!

So glad she like that set!!!!

My daughter is still having major sinus problems. She takes nasonex nightly and had been forgetting on the boat. She said mom I feel great. I just said that is because you are not in Kentucky honey. LOL. So here we are and she has been sniffing up a storm and now has a bad bronchial cough. This just adds to my list of reason why we need to move to Florida!

 Maybe someone mistook all of us for famous as we looked so stunning after all of our pre cruise makeovers!princess: princess: princess:
( my apologies again to the boys):rotfl:
I did see pix of Katie and Suri at WDW in the checkout line at the grocery store. Fortunately for Jill she escaped that annoying paparazzi!:thumbsup2
DS did have a cold after we got home but I figured it was from being packed in the airplane with the little darlings behind us that were coughing every 5 seconds and kicking our seats from behind for 2 hours and 29 minutes:sad2:

Hey Tracy....I had MAJOR sinus problems after the cruise. It started very slightly on the last day and then carried over to our 4 days at WDW. I felt ok but I had major sinus congestion and was sneezing like crazy. I've never felt like that before. I know I have allergies to tree pollen so I looked it up and Florida's tree allergy season starts in February. Don't know if that's the reason or not. Oh well it's gone now...has anyone actually booked their bounceback yet?

Mike

Too funny!:rotfl2: I ALWAYS notice on a plane when someone is sneezing or coughing, I'm a bit obsessive when it comes to that, makes me nuts. I have to force myself not to think about it! Still, it's better than the 20 hour drive we'd have to endure if we didn't fly:scared1:

The little girl with the family we were with caught a nasty cold the 2nd day on the ship. Someone told her something was going around. I would think in the middle of winter on a cruise ship there would be more than just something going around. I was shocked none of us got sick. I feel very lucky after hearing your stories. So sorry to all of you. Hope you didn't let it ruin your time. :sad2:

I think we are going to rebook for Labor Day weekend but it does say not until April. I'm just nervous about it being the peak time of Hurricane Season or even just rocky seas. I guess we will have to buy insurance for the first time ever and hope for the best. Wanted to go in November and surprise DH for 15th wedding anniversary  , but can't afford to pull DD out of school. Have to save that for february.

No info on the famous person. I was just curious too!

You're right about the bounceback booking (April)....I guess I'm just anxious to see when people are going. I also know DW (ljm23) and I want to book right away so we have to make our decision. Finkelly, we're thinking along the same lines as you. We're looking at Labor Day time frame because we don't want to pull our 10 year old out of school either. It's also our 15th anniversary this year...August for us. It would be Hurricane season and would also be pretty hot during that time period. I love the heat but I love going from a cold wintery climate to a warm tropical climate even more. Would be fun to see some friendly faces on our bounceback.

Mike

we are looking at end of aug, first week of sept area as well. actually going to go see our travel agent this week to see how she wants to book this.

Well, stranger things have happened, but we too were thinking about booking mid-late Aug or first of Sept. I know it will be HOT, but it just gives me even more of a reason to chill by the pool or on the beach. As far as hurricane season goes, I've read that the Cpt. is more likely to go around a storm and extend the cruise than go through it! You more exp. cruisers may know more about this.
We had colds too upon returning home - I told the boys it was an allergy to home!:rotfl2: I didn't hear much about something "going around" on the boat, but it certainly is at home! We have 65-70 kids out a day with flu, strep, stomach virus, ect. Needless to say, I'm trying to figure out how to make clothing out of Lysol wipes and I'd like to mainline the spray too!

Sounds like everyone is unfortunately adjusting back to being home. Sorry about alot getting sick. As we did also. My daughter is fine now but still sounds nasaly. we are thinking the Sept 10th cruise. But will have to wait and see. My wife and I are currently going thru IVF so if that takes place she will be a no go. We are glad we dont have to book til April may as we should know by then. Then we are left with the dilema does just my daughter and I go? It wont be the same without my wife of course but I would hate to waste the bounceback trip. I am really just talking aloud as everything will fall into place, but I am thiking its a great last chance daddy daughter weekend together before a new baby arrives possibly. Another possiblitly is staying at Vero beach before hand and my wife just staying there relaxing while we cruise we are not sure yet

Wanted to wish you the best of luck and my thoughts are with you as you go through IVF. I hope you end up very blessed!
