After 15 years, it's almost here - We're going back to WDW!! (May PTR)

Sounds like you did a good bit more than we did at DTD even IN the rain. We went late one evening and only went in and down past WOD. We went specifically to WOD and then decided we would stroll to the shops on the other end of it, without heading toward the "heart" of the SHOPPING meca!!! :rotfl2::lmao: Of course that ended up costing me a few WASTED bucks. Tracy, wanted to run in a Christmas Shop (? I THINK) and the girls weren't interested in going in it, so they opted to wait outside with me. Little did I realize they had other intentions!! Outside of that store was a carrousel, which for some reason they were interested in!!! :confused3 I reminded them that just earlier they had taken a spin on "Cindy's" at MK, but that didn't seem to deter them from wanting to WASTE money on this little one?? So, being on Vacation and not wanting to hear it, I just handed them the money and let them go!! Thankfully, Tracy was out by the time the ride was over and we were able to move on, without wanting another turn!! :thumbsup2

I do hate that the rain didn't let up any, but again, glad you and DH plugged along and made the most of it. I can imagine that many wouldn't have and would have come home telling stories of the WORST vacation ever. Life is indeed what we make it!!!

I would say that it is almost too funny that the CM's were yelling at the top of their lungs for everyone to exit the building......but, for the life of me I can't visualize that?? :rotfl2: Oh, yes I can, as each person made it to the exit and realized that it was truly pouring, they were debating on whether or not to make a run for it and where to make that run too, while some of them were deciding NOT to even make a run for it!!!!!!!!!!! I bet it did take a while to clear the building.

Good score on TSM. UMMMMMM, you didn't mention RnRC or TOT????? Do they close those during the rain??? :confused3

I hope you get that letter from Disney.........you DESERVE it!!! There should be some sort of "rain" refund or future discount for those that are there during trips where rain is excessive. You know when we were there and shortly after we returned there was some talk about them closing the gates when the parks get to capacity. It made me wonder what they do "for" those that hold tickets, but then can't gain entrance when it fills up?? I mean, I wouldn't want to go in if it was that packed, but I could see myself upset if I held a ticket and couldn't gain entrance too!! :confused3

I hope that your final day turns out drier, but I have my umbrella by the computer here, just in case!!! ;)

Now you and Wigd. can carry on with your hair and bag discussion!! :rolleyes1

I think the Daisy Daisy like in the picture. It's kind of cute. Of course when I head to the store, who knows what I'll pick.

I love talking about bags, just like BD!!

Well you can always talk bags with me! That Daisy Daisy is very cute! Can't wait to see what you end up with!

I'm feeling the urge to purchase something bigger, not sure if it's called the weekender or not... I saw a really cute one in Purple Punch on the airplane!:goodvibes

So the Daisydaisy backpack is now in my possesion!
Since I pretty much wear denim when I'm not at work, it will go with almost everything.

Here's the thing BD, now I can carry the ponchos instead of DH stuffing them into the cargo pockets of his shorts. Think of it as a present to him!:banana:

Wigd, the purple punch pattern is one of my favorites. I never got the bigger bag before I left, but I have a story about my old vera bag that I took with me instead.

It's the big tote in the old Bermuda Blue pattern. It's several years old now, but big and roomy and has lots of room to bring back souvenirs in.

I never see anyone with this bag and pattern, no matter where I go. Imagine my surprise when a woman passes me in the hall on my way to my room with the very same bag. Now, I'm not one to think the worst, but I can tell you I doubled my pace back to the room, only to find the trusty bag safe and sound, whew. All I could think was I left the door ajar or something stupid like that. What a coincidence!

Congratulations on the new Daisydaisy! I need to get on ebay and check on that Purple Punch bag.......although I may need some other travel accesories, like a new Villager as well.....We are going to Vegas next month!
Your hallway story made me laugh out loud!:rotfl:

While shopping for the bag, I captured these manpris....

You can't see them very well, but they were the roll up jean kind - tight too, like women's. Geez, I wish I had a better picture. The sneakers were Dis green..

I did really well with the shopping, I bought 2 tshirts, a mickey pen for my Passporter, and a really small stuffed Nemo for the dogs at WOD and really didn't buy anything else, other than the baseball hat - which was a necessity. DH on the other hand hit Team Mickey pretty hard and came away with 4 tshirts and a couple of ESPN stickers for friends.

It kind of scared you when the CM's started yelling, but people did not want to move and I really can't blame them, it was raining so hard.

We walked from one end of DTD to the other, stopping in the shops and then took the boat back to the Marketplace while we sat in water and just kept laughing. You had to.

TOT and RnRC I didn't make it too. I was going to ride TOT at least, but the rain kept me from heading back that day. I never has another chance.
We had Test Track on our mind and were determined to ride it.

You will have some fun rides to put on your need to do list for next time!

I had hoped to finish this up this weekend, but I've been working away gathering stuff for my "Back to Disney fund" yard sale.

I did want to share a little before I head back into the attic.

One of the things that would have been perfect to take on my trip would have been a pair of capris. Did I pack any, uh - NO. I took 1 pair of jeans that I wore one time. The reason I wore them once was because in the rain, they took on the characteristics of what can only be described as - The Sham-WOW! The wicked up as much rain as possible until at one point, I was soaked past my knees :scared1:.

What will I take on my next trip to Disney - you got it. CAPRIS

Another moment of wisdom arose when I realized my 10 yr old rain jacket was no longer waterproof, or even water resistant. Note to self - buy a new rain jacket before tropical weather hits NC this summer.:thumbsup2

So, I'll leave you in suspense for now, but promise to update with our last day soon. Once again, I have to say, through the rain, thunder, lightening and soaked clothes, this was my favorite vacation yet. :goodvibes

Do women's CAPRIS have EXTRA POCKETS in them??? Just asking?? If they don't if you would add a few EXTRA pockets to them....it certainly could solve some of the BAG issues you women have!!! JUST SAYING!!!! :rolleyes1

You should also be commended for soaking up as much of the rain as you could as you toured around in your jeans. Who knows, you could have kept somebody from slipping down, by toting all that water in your jeans!! :thumbsup2

I do hope that you REMEMBERED that TODAY "IS" Father's Day?? :rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

as far as taking a little time to get back to your trip report........it's OK, Wigd. has taught us all to be patient over the course of HER last pre/trip/pre/trip report!! OH and GOOD LUCK with the $ALE....make a lot and sell it all........Disney awaits!!!
