Is there any difference to the Aft vs. Forward or Port Vs. Starboard?

Is one better than the other?

So many things to decide!

Thanks, Lisa:crazy:

Aft is better than forward. I felt more motion in the very front of the boat. Do you know yet what category you're getting? I've read some reports on here about preferred sides, but I don't have a preference.

Let me know how you like your room. You'll love the verandah. I would like to book Cat.6 for our next cruise but might have to get Cat.8. :( Hope you get more responses to your question.:D

We love aft. You're so much closer to the restaurants, than if you're forward. We're going on our 3rd DCL cruise, and we'll have been aft all 3 times. (Twice in cat 6, once in cat 7.) Just a heads up though, you might want to make sure you're "in front" of the Navigator Verandahs (cat 7.) The verandahs on the cat 6 cabins behind the cat 7's are metal wall. In front of the cat 7's, you'll get the see-thru plexiglass walls. If you want to sit on your verandah, I think it's much better to look thru plexiglass, than look at a not-so-exciting metal wall!

As far as port or starboard, I don't really have a preference. The ships usually back in to Castaway, so it's fun if you're on the port side, to watch the buzz of activity on the island, especially when it's time to get back on the ship. We like to stand on the verandah and just people watch. But there's no guarantee which way the ship will dock.

Poohbush,

When you say in front of... I think by the layout we are about 3 or 4 rooms down from cat 7. Is that enough?

Thank's so much for your input. I'm so excited I wish November would hurry up and get here.

Lisa

When she says in front of, she means more forward. The category 6's which end in 44, 46, 48, 50, 52 and 54 (on deck 6) all have metal verandas. They are not clear and you can't see anything, unless standing up. If your room number doesn't end of one of those above numbers, you'll have a clear veranda. We love being Aft. Our favorite room is 6616, which is on the starboard side. WE're right next to the elevators, so it's such easy access up the Mickey pool and Topsiders and down to the clubs and the restaurants. DH and I aren't really night owls, so we really don't utilize the adult clubs that much.

We stayed in the Aft section of Deck 6 & are going back next Feb. We had the verandahs with the white metal rail in the rear of the ship & they were very spacious...you can look out at the ocean without seeing below.( for people with any motion sickness that is a plus). It all depends on personal preference. We're going to be in the same rooms in Feb. 2004 except we'll be trying the starboard side this time. Enjoy your cruise! Cathie

Thanks! I'm in 6128 so it looks like we will have the plexi-glass!

You guys are wonderful!:smooth:
