I need some advice, from people my age. I'm 15 living in Delaware and considering moving to Florida at 18. So many people think it's a bad idea that I'm wondering - can anyone give me some recommended states to live in? The biggest considerations are moderate to low cost of living and being gay friendly. Thanks fellow teens :) ;)

I live in Tennessee. Its gorgeous here. Moderate weather. Low cost of living where I am. I have a house bought in 03(I think), five bedrooms, 50K dollars.

Where do you want to go to college, that might sway your decision?

Not decided on a college. Just want some state ideas, then I'll look into colleges, etc.

I have heard Tenn. has a bad job market and not gay friendly :( What do you think?

But, wouldn't you want to do it the other way around?
I mean you could look into a college you'd want and then you could check out the areas around it.
Wouldn't that be easier?

well Tennessee has several college choices depending on where you want to live.

ETSU- East Tennessee State University
MTSU-Middle Tennessee State University
UTK-University Of Tennessee Knoxville
UTM-University Of Tennessee Martin
UTC-University Of Tennessee Chattanooga.
APSU-Austin Peay State University
USS-University Of The South-Swannee.

Tennessee is like any other place. It all depends on who you're with about gay friendly ness. The bigger cities=more gay friendly.

We are in the bible belt though. There can be problems with that. But don't let a few mule headed people sway your decision.

And with the job market it depends on your education and what you want to do.

It would be easier, but I'm stubborn and wanted some state ideas first. :)

Hmm..

Well, I live in New Hampshire and I could tell you about it.
We have a couple colleges here that I know of.
There is ..
UNH (University of New Hampshire) in Manchester, NH
New England College in Henniker, NH
Keene State College in Keene, NH
And like a lot more just can't really think of more right now.
Hew Hampshire is a cool place to live. Well, in my opinion.

I've read that New Hampshire is nice but expensive. Is it gay friendly, or at least not horribly anti-gay?

I live in Ohio and love it. There are soooooo many things to do here!:goodvibes

You guys rock! I'm getting so much more advice from you guys around my age then I did in the regular community area.

So now I can keep NH in mind. Thanks PUNKD :)

I know Ohio is inexpensive. how about gay-friendliness?

um, i have no clue. i know a couple of gay people and they are all treated nicely around here. i just dont know about in the rest of the state. sorry.................:confused3 but the colleges i know are:

Ohio State
Ohio University
Ball State
University of Toledo
Xavier
BGSU
and there aer some others im sure...............

Ohio is as gay-friendly as anywhere. Lived here my whole life. :)

Typically and this isnt all places so dont anyone get bent out of shape about this but usually the most gay friendly places are the areas with a high cost of living although thats not true in every situation just typically, please correct me if im wrong on this, this is just what ive observed.

I was actually going to say that. Most of the states where the cost of living is less, is where they aren't so gay friendly.(mostly southern and midwestern states like TX and TN, but they aren't so ga friendly) the states that are more gay friendly such as on the east or west coast like Massachusetts and California, but they have very high cost of living.

I've heard that Missouri and Arkansas are gay friendly. I could be wrong though.

I hear Delaware is very gay friendly, but I don't know for sure.
And last time I checked Virginia only had 4% tax.. which is good compared to New Jersey with 7%.

I live in Iowa. I dont know if you want to live in Iowa, cuz its pretty boring here. The only major colleges I know here are Iowa State and UNI. I couldn't tell ya about housing prices, but most of the people in my area are pretty gay-friendly.
