Any minute now, huh? If you can...update this post when you go in to have the baby! We are all excited for you!

There is a thread on the Podcast forum of the baby watch. It's been a lot of fun to share what is probably my last time doing this. I update it quite often.

Tomorrow is delivery day! Woo Hoo!

About the "Mom" Panelists
Disney realizes that the person who serves the "Mom" role differs from family to family. These "Moms" have been selected to be panelists because they have demonstrated an excellent knowledge of Walt Disney World® Resort. Being familiar with the Parks, Resort hotels, dining and entertainment, shopping, and recreational activities, they can offer the help and tips you need to make your vacation planning a snap. At this time we are not accepting any new applications to be on the Walt Disney World® Moms Panel.

Thanks for pointing this out. It's been updated. :thumbsup2

Oh, and Jennifer/DVCsince02, best wishes to you and your family. When you are recovered, please return and post photos of your new addition!! :)

Hello all! I discovered this great board just a short time ago and have been killing time since applying reading all of it! Now I am all caught up and thought I would introduce myself instead of just lurking... Jamie here, in major need of taking my mind about the status of the selection process, favorite "comfort" foods are potato soup, pasta, and hot tea. Loved the new DVC video, thanks for sharing! Julie, glad to hear you are safe and sound if in the dark, and wishing luck to DVCsince02 on her impending arrival.

Thanks for keeping me entertained folks!:wave2:

Yeah! A new friend! Welcome! :dance3:

Ooooh! Check out this quote:

"Inside, designers have made sure to emphasize the views that they hope will ultimately make Bay Lake Tower one of Disney Vacation Club's most sought-after resorts. Rooms will contain nearly wall-length windows that open to views of the Magic Kingdom or Bay Lake. Some bathrooms will even have sliding walls allowing guests to watch fireworks while soaking in tubs.

'It feels like a Tomorrowland building,' Hanus said, alluding to the section of the Magic Kingdom that the tower overlooks."

That's wild!!

That is wild! I would LOVE to stay there! I can't wait to see the Travel Channel show about it!

Here is the YouTube link to the DVC announcement!

This was really funny! I have been waiting to see the video since my friend forwarded her DVC email, I mean DeevE-mail, to me earlier today. I can't do sound on my PC at :badpc: and had to wait to see the video until after I returned home. Well, it was worth the wait! They must have had a lot of fun creating this promotion!

Julie, I am glad you are home and safe, but do you have AC? Generator??
I am sure it is hot. I don't know if you know but check with your insurance co for re-imbursement of hotel/food. Before Katrina down here- who would have known. But if you were /are displaced, you can get your $$ back for hotel /lost food/bought food w/out affecting your deductable(seperate). It's part of your homeowners. Check into it. They called us(yeah an insurance co calling YOU to see if you need money-how amazing!) and asked us about damage and displacement. We have electric everything-including well, so no water when power is out, as well as the obvious stuff. It is a real blessing though as it definitely wasn't expected and actually we forgot about that we got it for K. We had damage to our roof, but minimal, so we did not make a claim(our hurricane ins. dedictable is 5% of the homes worth!)

God bless you and your family and I hope you have power soon. We were without power for 3 and 1/2 weeks for K. We stayed in Dallas as that was where DH's boss was and he could work. Then DH came home to empty bank vaults and safe deposit boxes of thier mold and fish in the worst hit places. Nastiness....

Now my friends will really think me nutty b/c I sent it on to those who have been at least a couple times and know me well!!

we r home our house is here no power but we r still better off than some

What a relief! 'So glad to hear that you're home (and that you have a home to return to). I hope that things return to "normal" soon!

Well, I think things have slowed down a bit...in fact, I think things have come to a screeching halt! Might be a good time to take on the 'comfort food' subject!

My comfort foods (no real recipes needed!):

- Grilled Cheese
- Tomato Soup with Ritz crackers (crush 'em up and let 'em soak)
- Mac and Cheese
- Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches

Of course not all at once...and of course all comfort food is better when served by someone else (like Mom or DH).

Speaking of grilled cheese and tomato soup: Little Man (DS2) and I ate those for lunch yesterday. Definitely fitting fare for Fall!

We stuck to standard grilled cheese this time. About a year ago, though, I received a few recipes for some dressed-up grilled cheese variations in a KRAFT food & family promotional magazine.

One version especially appealed to me. (It calls for two slices of cinnamon raisin bread and thinly sliced apple -- along with butter and cheese, of course.) It may sound suspect to some, but the sandwich actually is surprisingly pleasant.

An actual recipe may seem overkill, but here it its:

Cheesy Apple Cinnamon Raisin Grill
(recipe from KRAFT Foods, kraftfoods.com)

Ingredients:
-2 slices cinnamon raisin bread
-American cheese slices (KRAFT Singles)
-¼ small apple, cut into thin slices
-2 tsp. butter or margarine, softened

Directions:
-TOP 1 of the bread slices with Singles and apple slices; cover with remaining bread slice.

-SPREAD outside of sandwich with butter.

-COOK in skillet on medium heat 2 min. on each side or until golden brown on both sides.

If ever you decide to try it, enjoy!!

Oh, and as for comfort food: Give me a creamy bowl of homemade mac 'n cheese or mashed potatoes, and I'm happy! :)

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I find it very comforting to be in the company of such lovely and caring folks - I know we are all excited to see some DIS names on the final list of the panel. Meanwhile I look forward to getting to know all of you better. :surfweb:

The comfort food sounds yummy.

Mine all time favorite is mac n cheese-any way(almost), either boxed(walmart brand is my favorite!!) or baked are the best!

That recipe looks good.

Most anytime other people cook for me is comfort food-no matter what it is!!! If I don't have to cook it, it is good!
